People with good to great marriages, how did you meet your spouse?

Interestingly enough, we met in his bedroom. Married 6 months later. We laugh about our early days because they seem so unlike ourselves today. Like someone else said, it’s not about where you met. It’s what follows that matters!

I feel like you want to share this story and, honestly, I wanna hear! Que?

Haha it’s not that crazy. I was 18 he was 22. He was a marine, fresh out of the school house. My friend was dating his roommate and I came over to hang out. They shared a one bedroom apartment type room. I was sitting on his bed when he came back from a date with another girl. She had dropped him off in the parking lot. We hung out while my friend and her boyfriend were off together. Ended up “hooking up” casually that night and fell in love not long after. The rest is history! I am so glad because he is like George Clooney and has literally gotten hotter with age. And he is an amazing father.

We met at birthday party of a mutual friend. Our mutual friend was a good friend from college for me and a co-worker for DH.

It was the one and only time I met someone at a party, who turned out to be significant.

+1

This is your answer, OP.

A true Cinderella story. Then we both spent the next day texting everyone we knew at the party to find out who the other person was. 13 years ago!

nice! I have a really similar story -- we met at an event through mutual friends, couldn't take our eyes off each other, but never got names or contact info. I remember watching him walk away and thinking "how do i meet someone like that?" we both started hanging out with those mutual friends all the time until we saw each other again, got contact info, and it was all inevitable after that.... 11 years ago.
