Casual relationships and STDs

Anonymous
I have never used condoms for oral. Irony is I went through all of my 20s, fairly promiscuous, and never had an STD. Post-divorce, had several relationships and the last one got herpes from oral. It's the HSV1 strain from my partner who apparently had cold sores as a kid, never told me. 60-80% of adults have HSV1 so most people can oral away without worry but for the minority of us who avoided it until divorce and redating it's there and probably inevitable.

Only good news I guess is HSV1 genitally almost never recurs.

Get ready for STDs.

Learn all you can about them and be ready to visit your doctor frequently. Your health insurance will love it. Not.

OP here, someone mentioned finding a monogamous FWB but I assume men that want a FWB are having casual sex with others. I don’t plan on having sex with more than one person at once, just don’t want to spend time on a relationship. Is it really possible to expect a FWB to follow along with not sleeping with others if you’re only having sex around twice a week?

If it’s good sex... yeah.

wrong. there's no commitment. they don't even have to tell you the truth. they will tell you whatever you need to hear to keep the free sex going 'wow babe you are the best I've ever had'...as they bone another girl Wed and Fridays.

but, believe you have the best crotch in the world and it's magic if it makes you feel better.

If you know she is into it, then this is a great deal. You can often work in a little more than twice a week together when the kids are not around (e.g., meeting for lunch at one of your houses).

The big thing is knowing that she wants to have sex and will work to spend the time with you. I have had FWBs who tend to only call when they have some unscheduled time on a weekend (and I am a man, BTW) but it is not a sure thing waiting for their call.

Much better if you know that she is free every other weekend from Friday at 5:00 pm to Sunday at 5:00 pm and that you can come over (or that she will come over) starting at 4:30 pm on Saturday and leave when she is tired. My biggest surprise was that most FWBs did not want to spend the night or for me to spend the night. They wanted sex and then to get home (alone) because having time alone was so hard to come by.

Who ARE you sex-negative people?

Frightening naïveté

Me too. I would either become depressed, insane, or self destructive if I had to deal with this crap. Doing it in my 20s was enough.

Something about the way this person described their desired schedule of services (« I want sex 2x a week« ) is offensive to me.

Unless you are going to a prostitute, wouldn’t it depend on the woman’s preferences? Schedule? Etc

You sound like you need a blow up doll, not another adult with a brain, life and feelings.

OP here- I’m a woman. I assume most men would not think sex 2X a week is too much, but that’s just me assuming.

Sex positivity is more than just having sex and injoying it. It is also promoting responsible sexual behavior. Having sex, especially ccasual sex comes with a risk of STDs, we reduce that risk by using protectioon, and getting tested regularly.
