That’s pretty much the entire point.

Two great high academic schools. Both nationally ranked SLACs( T15 ish)

Similar selective cohort. The D1 vs D3 sports is the difference.

Grad schools and hiring managers would differ, but ok.

Amherst and Davidson were my D's top choices and she struggled with her decision between the two. She ended up at Amherst but wonders if she would have had a better experience at Davidson especially during her first 2 years in the midst of covid. Davidson is a wonderful school and every bit a peer of top northern liberal arts colleges (albeit with much better weather). Davidson has a classic campus and town that would fit right in most anywhere in New England, and they have a lovely Lake Campus with beach on Lake Norman for the college community.

Forbes ranks Davidson #5 in their Top 25 Colleges with Happiest Most Successful Alumni:

This is nonsense. You are an idiot with an obvious axe to grind.

You could say the same about most of the NESCACs

NESACs have a much better national reputation. Davidson and W&L at best will give a shrug and worst be associated with some sort of Deep South racist backwater. I mean their names are not doing them any favors.

You are actually an idiot if you think that. NESCACs are mostly good schools (and two of my kids graduated from them) but please understand that almost all of them are virtually unknown by the average bloke outside of New England and maybe select mid-Atlantic upper middle class suburbs. They have no national reputation, except to a tiny subclass of educated college snobs. Myself included. I mean, Hamilton? Bates? Trinity? Even Middlebury, Bowdoin, and Wesleyan.
You’ll get a whole lot more job traction with Wisconsin-Whitewater in Chicago, than you will with Connecticut College. Go Camels! Hahaha

Davidson over most of NESCAC any day.
