Goodbye, Washington DC.

Leave him alone. He's following the BLM tenant of disrupting the requirement of the Western-prescribed nuclear family.

“tenet” I meant to write. I’ll be disappointed if I find after scrolling that non one corrected me.

LOL. These neighborhoods existed before 2003. I think the word he is looking for is gentrification. This whole entire rant isn’t about him being a “city person through and through” — a city person who oddly only ever wanted to be left alone and not interact with anyone. It’s about him being butt hurt that he can’t play in an urban playground that’s for affluent white people only. “Who cares?” about injustice, indeed.

This is the part that got me the most. Absurdity.

Mocks Joe Biden for climate change proposals (his job is to
promote raping the earth with dirty energy) and WNBA players for walking off the court during the national anthem at game and the decision by Washington’s professional football team to jettison its racist moniker. And those are just in the last few days.

You know, that Twitter feed together with the manifesto " good-bye letter" might be a red flag to report to FBI just for any domestic terror relations or recent gun purchases

Thinking of the lawyer who was doing all of that hostile suing of colleges for having women studies programs and then went postal and shot two of his perceived legal adversaries

Just sayin' there is a LOT of loose vitriol flying these days and it is NOT healthy

As for the crime in our cities :

1) Hand gun ban was overturned by a Republican who overseas the District AND that was done against objections of EVERY Mayor in America

2) letting people out of jail d/t covid was a BAD policy decsion. The kids who have been killed in DC were shot by men recently released from jail d/t covid

There is going to be a lot of disposable income leaving the district for the suburbs over the next few years and that is not good for an urban area when that money leaves. There are a lot of businesses that are already struggling from the pandemic and the economic shutdown that might have survived but will die over the next couple of years as money leaves the area.

THIS.ALL.OF.THE.WAY.

Umm... except there will be an election in November and then EVERYONE who wants in on the new government admin will be pouring back into town

And, people on here need to stand up and point out the Muriel Bowser vehemently opposed the funding cut to MPD, well, about as vehement as she gets.

That was a knee jerk move by a few young council members trying to score points with their under 35 crowd.

Dumb

Before you cut cops, get the DC gun back back in place from the new Congress in 2020, THEN look at alternative policing strategies

But get the guns off the streets first

Dumb move

He wasn't even here two decades. And he's a tubby, bald white dude with a chip on his shoulder. He's not breaking any new ground here. A guy like that was bound to leave DC at about his age regardless of what is going on in DC. I will not miss his tax dollars. Also, would love to know how long he's really been looking to move...I guarantee it was way before BLM was painted on the street.

First, you are stupid and vapid, not stupid and valid.

Second, he's full of crap. If he lives in the city, he's lying about his commute; more likely, he's a suburbanite (VA, given his political leanings) and travel to Ashburn every evenig.

Also, he's an oil and gas lobbyist who is (obviously) conservative, and hates his job. And the protests are the reason he is supposedly leaving? Horse$hit.

Nah. Yes, DC (along with ALL other big cities) is going to lose a lot of businesses in the coming year or two, but not because of protests and white flight, it will all be tied to the virus. The pandemic has forced millions of people to work from home and now that genie it out of the bottle, it's won't be going back in. Many businesses will rethink their lease agreements and realize that WFH strategy works. That means commercial real estate is going to take a huge hit and many downtown restaurants will go out of business as their lunch crowds never return. But your contention that businesses will leave because of protests is just wrong.

Dude should head on over to the real estate forum where he can read about the scarcity of inventory. There are plenty of professionals anxious to take his spot and pay their taxes.

I took his complaints about the commute to relate more to the quality than the duration. Some of you people are so incredibly thin-skinned. It’s like your whole world crumbles if anyone voices any criticism of DC. You probably aren’t as different from him as you want to believe - i.e., you’re both tiresome.

Perhaps. But this dillweed is going to be your new neighbor. Enjoy!

I would have listed for way more than 50k over his purchase price.

I'm sure that's why houses in my DC neighborhood are going under contract within days.

Those of us who call this place home will be relieved when all the fakes leave. When they ditch because things aren't going their way instead of trying to make them work, when they pull up their shallow roots so someone with deep roots can take their place, when they stop thinking they can treat people around them however they want to because who cares, they always knew in their heart of hearts they would be leaving someday anyway -- we will be relieved!!

It's like that all over, even flyover country. More to do with interest rates at historic lows.
