Grocery delivery is definitely safer than going out for groceries. But you are absolutely right about the risks behind the scenes for warehouse workers and delivery personnel. And you are ALSO right about keeping deliveries down to just the essentials. One of the best ways we can decrease the risk for those crucial, frontline folks is to STAY AT HOME and keep our kids at home as well. |
Not this matters, because I think you largely understand what I am trying to say - but I meant one person getting grocery delivery and one person going grocery shopping themselves has a roughly equivalent societal risk. I do believe getting grocery delivery is less risky to the recipient than shopping yourself which is why I leave those hard to come by slots for people higher at risk. And by the way, I offered to watch my college roommate’s kids on the off chance she and her husband were both hospitalized. Not sure if the shamers are alienating people from doing that for them or not. My sister will have to come to town if I need care for my kids. Though I think the risk of anyone being hospitalized at the same time as their spouse is low. |

I don't think grocery delivery is safer and there really is very little evidence that it is. Regardless, getting food is essential, and nobody has suggested that one should stop going. Most people are sending one person every 2 weeks - there are no delivery slots available anyway - and wearing masks, etc. As for this stupid "quarantining with another family" BS I keep reading about on FB and here, you are all seriously so juvenile and just plain weird. From what I can see it is all "Mamas" with "littles" who are waiting for "wine o clock." Or are you all swingers? Can you not watch your own kids? Are you all super bored? So, so so so so so freaking odd. |

You clearly don’t understand how this all works. |
