Real Colorado leaves DA to join ECNL

Anonymous
Ussf certainly does not. They basically tell their biggest future fan base that they all suck and get lost.

Stafford is certainly comparable to REAL COLORADO and TEXANS. Right.

Well, Stafford will be in your division in two years and Real Colorado will not be.

It really is irrelevant which league these clubs are in, none of our ECNL clubs will ever rub elbows with them. Are you really going to tell folks at coctail parties that your kid plays in the same league as Real Colorado?

Whether you are obsessing about DA or ECNL, most of you are all looking for exclusivity, not excellence. In sports, you will not come close to having the best if you construct and maintain economic barriers to participation. And even if you concede you are doing high-cost, high-travel leagues to enhance your likelihood of getting a scholarship (and not for better soccer), the greater barriers undermine the economic rationality of doing it. Sure, go ahead and spend $70,000 in travel to get a scholarship to a school whose degree may not be worth too much. That makes a lot of sense. Unless soccer makes the difference between going to MIT and commuter school X, save your money now.

It is cheap. It’s called rec. or high school. No one has a “right” to play travel.

None of the people I go to cocktail parties with would know what I am talking about. Their kids play American sports. I’d have to make an AAU or travel Baseball or softball or lacrosse analogy.

I guess you're trying (clumsily) to somehow make ECNL look weak but why the full salute for Stafford? They're already in RL, and stinking it up quite nicely. I suspect that ECNL will eventually promote high performing RL teams to full ECNL, but Stafford does not resemble a high performing club. And as far as Real Colorado goes, what magical event is going to cause them to reverse course and leave ECNL?

No one has a rght to play rec or HS either. It is just a sport. All of it at all levels could disappear tomorrow and life would carry on just fine. Post was just about GDA being such a small.pool and how to make the pool bigger. World will keep.spinning even if high level girl's soccer remains a country club.

Neither the DA nor the ECNL can claim top status. They are sharing the same class of players in the same territories. Now, it's just does your DD want to play for half the year and do high school, or play for a full year? All about personal preference. And anyone who says otherwise is selling something.

But fcv won’t be. Will you tell people about your future edp schedule at cocktail parties?

Same comment as on another thread. And what do BRYC teams outside of the ECNL look like? Where do those teams play? Who cares where the non-DA teams play? FCV is still a top tier DA club

This DA-hating troll couldn’t stand that no one joined their original Dallas Texans ECNL thread, and then kept commenting on their own post trying to re-inject it here, until someone took the bait.

In two years RL will be ECNL. That is the point.
