Yup

When the half time show turns into a competition, you know it wasn't a hit.

My two cents: point to another country that would exclusively feature bilingual singers/bilingual show at such a national event. You can’t. Despite everything, we are a melting pot.

Kids are dumb. Explain to them that it’s extremely hard to sing live and dance while entertaining a crowd.

LOL. You think they were singing live?

You don’t understand what she was saying do you?

You don't understand they were lip syncing do you?

You knucklehead. The lady above me meant explain to the kids that they singers had to lip synch because it’s hard to sing and dance at the same time. You totally missed her meaning. So stop writing. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Ma’am we understand that. Let me explain it since you are having trouble. The kinds wondered why they were lip singing. The comment was, bc it’s hard to sing live and dance.

Everyone know most singers lip sing when they are actually performing a high energy routine.

Then, they are not singing live. They are not singing at all.

It was very empowering. Don’t go by the old farts on DCUM.

PP. Exactly! When they brought out the PR flag, I pictured all those MAGA heads exploding.
I wonder how many recognized it.

Hmm. I saw it as a PR’s cry for help from the rest of the country, the economy of which is benefiting from MAGA love. Puerto Rico could use some Trump treatment; Governor Wanda’s not going to get it done. 15 straight years of economic decline.

Huh? I’m a poc and I thought Jlo’s performance was a bit much. Shakira’s struck a good balance.

I guess that is what we were supposed to notice, given their outfits and dancing.

This was not just for Miami. Nor was it just for adults.
It is a shame they could not find entertaining more appropriate for adults and children.

This is seriously something you would see in an opening act of a strip club.
Worst half time show ever.

You’ve never been to a strip club. The super bowl isn’t for kids. Have them watch the puppy bowl if you want something for kids.

I actually have. It was more tame than this.
And, you really think the super bowl is not for kids????? Seriously??????

Yes it’s not for kids. This is men repeating hitting each other and bashing heads. Nothing about it is geared toward kids. And no, you have NEVER been to a strip club. There were no private parts exposed during this show. There was no money thrown on stage.

So kids in cages and the girl singing born in the USA was a reference to dreamers?

You need to get out more. There are a number of bilingual countries.

But we aren’t officially bilingual. It would make sense for Canada to have a show in English and French. But for the American super bowl to be bilingual? That’s not expected. Name a European country that would feature another language spoken by an immigrant population? They wouldn’t.

I thought it was cool. I also think it underscores how far we’ve come.

Having said that, it was probably concocted by the nfl in an effort to increase viewership among the fastest growing/new majority.

It’s not for kids. Put your rugrats to bed after the puppy bowl.

Shakira was just right, there's a difference between general shaking it and simulation.

They're both talented, but I give this halftime to Shakira for hitting a good balance.

Not all women are competitive. They are friends and clearly support each other.

I hated it. The last thing I want my daughters to think is that what is 'empowering' for women is to dance half naked in sexual ways for the enjoyment of men. That has been happening for generation and generation in strip clubs. I don't particularly think it is all that empowering. It that is what others want for their daughters - great. Teach them to take their clothes off and pole dance and shake their bodies and simulate sex for men's enjoyment. We don't look to strip clubs as our model for female empowerment.

As someone said we don't teach boys to take off their clothes and use their bodies for women's enjoyment.
