Did you see her divorce settlement? Something like $720 million.

Is she actually going to see any of this money?

Yes. Since the decision was rendered in London, enforcement will not be a problem at all. Sheihk Mo has billions in assets in the UK and other Commonwealth countries. Would they enforce this in the UAE? Probably not, but that would be a result of how the conflicts of laws and enforcement of foreign judgments are applied there.

Tax havens and blind trusts are created for reasons like this
Even Mitt Romney has several

Good for her.

My question is - does the sheik play the long game and either outright kidnap her or the girl sometime in the future or lure the kids back somehow.

I'm glad she has that money. I think I'd buy a village and hole up there with jaunts to London or vacation on a private jet. It has to suck looking over your shoulder for the rest of your life.

People seem to not realize her father was King of Jordan and her brother is the current King of Jordan. The marriage was probably very helpful in boosting diplomacy and monetary aid for Jordan and also ensures she won't be touched in the event of an issue like this as she was already a royal of another country.

Until she disappears. Seriously mentally ill people, and the idiot bodyguard getting involved with her is just as unbalanced.

I’m sure Haya’s half-brother is delighted at how her marriage turned out.

She’s going to need the money for security. She has humiliated her powerful husband by having an affair with the help right under his nose, in a part of the world where women are still second-class citizens.

I support her. The nerve of that idiot to scream treachery and betrayal. Dude! with your cottage of wives, keeping everyone satisfied and content was never going to be practical. Pay up and shut up.

Her bodyguard blackmailed her?!?!?
What is to become of that?
No charges filed?

You do realize that she is royalty in her own right; is an international business woman; Olympic athlete; and, wealthy beyond comprehension without 700 million dollars? She married for convenience and political alliance. Did she humiliate her husband? Yes. Does she care? No.

Jordan is a poor country and depends heavily on the largess of the US and the wealthy Gulf states. She was comfortably rich before but nowhere this level of affluence. She’s only the half-sister of the current king. I doubt Abdullah will be rolling out a red carpet for her now.

Haya knew of his wives before she married him. It wasn’t a surprise to her.

He's the absolute ruler of one of the richest countries in the world. Not sure what anyone could do. She's lucky she got away and managed to squirrel away so much money.

Let's also be perfectly clear that all of this was all well known to Haya when they married. You have to ask yourself why a seemingly progressive woman marries a guy 25 years her senior who already has other wives and countless children, and has no intention of divorcing them. Haya is not a full Arab but as a shami, she certainly knew the way of the Gulfies, and the way they run their houses and countries. But no, Haya thought she could be the fabulous one, the wife who gets to wear regular dresses and mingle with the international jetset while the Emirati wives stay at home. I wonder what her reasons were - like twenty billion of them.
