On the 03 Boys side, suggest looking at the results of the Bethesda Premier Cup.
The top two flights (Potomac Blue and Potomac Green) feature four top 10 teams: Baltimore Celtic (#5) Lake Grove Newfield (#2) Morris United (#3) Sigma FC (#6) Local teams -- all of which are ranked below 200 nationally -- include: Bethesda, Arlington, Maryland United, BRYC, Takoma Park, Loudoun, McLean, Laurel, SYC, Barca MD, OBGC, Future Monarchs, and LMVSC. |
I think to suggest that the local ECNL teams are very competitive with all of the DAs is a pretty large leap without the benefit of cross league play. |
It's always going to be team by team basis, but the absence of cross league play is an unfortunate reality of this system. Years ago, there was only one top league. I wish Jeff cup and other big tournaments had brackets that observed DA rules. It would be a chance for that sort of competition. |
| Both BRYC boys and girls 03 are top of ECNL conference in this age group. |
|
Well McLean played VDA in a friendly this fall and got up 3-0 in 15 minutes before bringing in a bunch of 04s. VDA ultimately came back and won but McLean was stronger team that day. And BRYC and Loudoun are at same level as McLean if not higher. |
Richmond v BRYC girls 03 battle on Sunday. Going to be a good battle for first place. |
The McLean team is pretty good, and I think they picked up some boys fron other clubs this year too. |
Looking forward to hearing about it on Twitter. |
Hahahahaha we all know who loves twitter. Twit away, you twit. |
Bro, I think that post was a joke post, not to be taken seriously. |
lol. and conversely to suggest that local DA teams are competitive with ECNL teams is a pretty large leap without the benefit of cross league play. |
Fair. I would say the top local ECNL team is better than the bottom DA and vice versa. But the top DA team would beat the top ECNL 4 times out of 5 in most cases and age groups. |
Lol That is very ”twitty” |
