It is true. However, you have to remember there are a lot of kids and a lot of reasons/ types of treatment that negative impacts the players. You are lucky. Your daughter has escaped the wrath of Bobby. Good for you as a parent for sucking up to him and ensuring a ticket to the National team. You will look back on this and realize you have done damage to your child. Enjoy your glory posts at top drawer soccer etc. thank goodness you save some college money for the therapy coming your kids way. BTW - kids who are abused typically grow up to be abusers.

two teams to be exact. Bobby is banned from 2 teams. He only has the older kids because they are trapped - either seniors or right in the middle of recruiting conversation juniors. Everyone knows this. Why do you think so many seniors are leaving early and NOT going to showcases/nationals??

Considering you're not allowed near the practice field you wouldn't know it unless your kids were constantly complaining. The problem is, these coaches hold tremendous power over ambitious kids and parents. If a kid has ambitions of playing in college they, as well as the parents have been convinced that FCV is the only pathway. The coaches hold the cards. The coaches make the NTC recommendations to US Soccer, the coaches can choose to work on behalf of a player with a college coach or not. The coach can determine WHEN a player plays in a showcase. If you are in the dog house you might get magically pulled as the college coach just arrived to watch. The coaches decide who they'll talk up or not.

In short, there is a lot control by the coaches and kids and parents live in a state of anxiety over roster spots, playing time etc.

If a kid has ambitions of playing in college they, as well as the parents have been convinced that FCV is the only pathway. The coaches hold the cards. The coaches make the NTC recommendations to US Soccer, the coaches can choose to work on behalf of a player with a college coach or not. The coach can determine WHEN a player plays in a showcase. If you are in the dog house you might get magically pulled as the college coach just arrived to watch. The coaches decide who they'll talk up or not.

In short, there is a lot control by the coaches and kids and parents live in a state of anxiety over roster spots, playing time etc.

The kids do their own leg work and frankly they should always expect to do the leg work. The problem is Bobby has the parents believe that he is the rainmaker for your kid when in reality it is your own kid that needs to do 98% of the work. But parents have their kids sit and play 20 minutes a game just hoping to get Bobby's blessing and the other kids back stab each other for the same blessing. The general atmosphere is toxic.

To date: each of those kids recruited and shared on social media started their journey before Bobby and without his help. Remember Julie (W&M) used to be a FCV coach BEFORE Bobby. Every single kid in the older team recruited pre Bobby. George Mason Recruits = FCV coach is Mason asst coach.

A group of parents were able to get a coaching change BECAUSE of the coaching behavior.

It doesn't sound like your kid is on a DA team.

two teams to be exact. Bobby is banned from 2 teams. He only has the older kids because they are trapped - either seniors or right in the middle of recruiting conversation juniors. Everyone knows this. Why do you think so many seniors are leaving early and NOT going to showcases/nationals??
