If a woman is older than 50, is it safe to assume she is the grandmother or nanny?

It is a new school for us and I want to meet other parents. I thought I would be the old mom in my 40s. I did not want to offend anyone from the first meeting.


Treat them as though they are the parents and if they correct you they’ll be flattered that you thought they were the parents. It would be insulting the other way around!
