Everyone is doing fillers and Botox

Anonymous

I’m 52. I don’t look 42. I am perfectly happy aging gracefully. No way would I have toxins injected into my face. First, everyone I know who does, looks perpetually surprised. I would hate to look like that. And second, I have no desire to look younger than I am. I want to look like a strong, fit, healthy 52 year old woman. Because that’s what I am.

And other people want to look good. Because that’s their thing and Botox helps with that. Look at Nicole Kidman-she’s gorgeous in her 50’s because of injectables. She looks fake but undeniably beautiful.

For some of us, looking fake is never beautiful

So then you're against people dying their hair, covering up zits with makeup, wearing lipstick etc., right? Because all of that is "fake." I don't think everyone needs botox to look good, but it makes me feel like I look better, and so why not?

I do my 11s so I don't look worried or angry all the time. I'm 45 and I know tons of people who do it. Maybe because I live in CC? My friends and I aren't high society-types but we do have higher HHI than most. I think that $800/year isn't so bad to not look pissed all the time.

When did you start?

It’s preventative. I’m 44 and started when I was 29. I know everyone on dcum says then don’t look their age, but I really don’t. Also, Swedish genetics.

haha same

Me too. Curious though, when we lose weight will all the wrinkles come at once? How does that work? Are we still wrinkled under the fat?

Thanks! 35, started at 30. Also Scandinavian genetics and have worn high spf sunscreen and used retin-a since 13. So far, so good...

I'm 53 and don't. I don't need it. Everyone thinks I'm in my 30s. I'm Asian and stay out of the sun. I look better as pale as possible anyway.

I am all for lasers and microneedling so whatever works for you.

I’ve considered starting but I have no idea where to start looking to find a good practice/doctor. Where do you get truthful reviews?

my early 30s SIL started botox in her 20s. Honestly it ages her for now because it makes her look like she's a 45 year old with botox.

Whoa, is Nicole Kidman the poster child for “good Botox”? I assumed she was one of the cautionary tales....

Nicole Kidman looks like a waxwork today.

Nope. Maybe one day, but not anytime soon. Have good skin (Latina), always wear sunscreen, eat lots of vegetables, drink a lot of water, am active, happy, and don’t drink alcohol. My face looks good.

I just tried Botox for the first time this week. I had to have a mole removed this week and I asked my dermatologist for "botox light". It's a subtle difference. My face moves! Honestly, you wouldn't know because I still have wrinkles, but just not as many!

It just sounds too creepy.

No interest. Aging naturally, aside from dying my hair!

Who is your dorm? This is exactly what I'm looking for.
