is there a clothing item or style you like, that gives away where you're from?

LL Bean is not sold all over the US? I think you can order it online anywhere.

Yes, but those of us from NE, especially Maine, bought a lot of our clothes there. To this day I hate L.L. Bean boots. My mother wanted me to have them because they were sturdy and L.L. Bean would replace them if something happened to them. I hated them then and I hate them now.

What came to mind is rather the lack of a specific clothing item -
I'm from Eastern Europe and I absolutely don't see the appeal of wearing pajamas other than for sleeping (I personally don't sleep in pajamas either, but...).
Christmas? Perfect excuse to dress up a bit fancy, NOT all family in pajamas.

Same, girl same. And bright, color-drenched clothing, even in the dead of winter, lol

I do wear striped shirts, with espadrilles. No cigarette or beret.

I do rock my embroidered shirts with huge sleeves from Ukraine - vyshyvankas. And I have a lean towards red necklaces - not sure if it's cultural, but makes me feel grounded.

I just googled this. Beautiful. And trendy casual right now! (At least, last time I checked Old Navy. The real deal is prettier).

Your weight is not a clothing style.

Sigh. That’s what some Americans don’t understand. It is. It’s actually the most important piece of it.

Oh definitely. Like with the TX posters, I assume when I picture their blinged out jeans, they are probably Miss Mes and the women are heavier than is the norm in the DMV. My sisters and SILs live in Austin/Houston/Dallas and the average woman tends to be significantly heavier than here.

From Dallas, live in the DMV now and this is inaccurate. It’s shocking how little people care about their looks compared to Dallas. You can’t take your dog for a walk there without a full face of makeup and your hair done. And if you walk around downtown Austin for three seconds you’d think every woman has an eating disorder. Your sisters must live in the sticks.

I always look too casual for the East Coast but I don’t feel comfortable dressing up.
