That is a lot of ties.

That alone will cause the normal, middle class members to either leave or riot. Or both. LaPierre has a wardrobe that costs more than their house, boat AND pick up truck, combined.

NRA members are too brainwashed for that. The ones who care about this kind of thing left long ago.

Doubt it. La pierre was paid a 5 million dollar salary some years and still kept on embezzling. I don’t hear any cries for his resignation yet.

While Wayne LaPierre uses NRA $ to fund his vacations in the Bahamas, staff there get low wages and have pension problems.
https://www.npr.org/2019/05/15/722960414/as-leaks-show-lavish-nra-spending-former-staff-detail-poor-conditions-at-nonprof

A series of internal National Rifle Association documents leaked online over the weekend, detailing lavish six-figure spending on clothing and travel expenses for CEO Wayne LaPierre.

The disclosures prompted board member Allen West to speak out. On Tuesday he announced that he had previously called for LaPierre's resignation and argued that "it is imperative that the NRA cleans its own house." A second NRA board member followed suit on his Facebook page by writing, "it is time for new management."

These developments, combined with a cascade of stories about other incidents of runaway spending at the gun rights organization, especially rankled former rank-and-file NRA employees.

They told NPR about low wages, pension problems and a culture of fear within the organization that treated ordinary staff very differently than its leadership.

Especially upsetting was the disclosure of these enormous costs despite one fact acknowledged in documents obtained by NPR: The company has underfunded pensions affecting hundreds of former and current employees — even as LaPierre made $1.4 million in 2017, according to the group's most recent financial disclosures.

This should be good to get all the dirt out in the open -

“The NRA is suing the advertising firm that it has worked with for decades–again. This time: for allegedly leaking NRA information to reporters. The complaint, filed late Wednesday afternoon in Virginia Circuit Court against advertising firm Ackerman McQueen, alleges that the firm shared sensitive information with outsiders in an effort “to tarnish and ultimately destroy the public image of the NRA and its senior leadership.”

The litigation also alleges that the advertising firm tried to foment “a (failed) executive coup” in an effort to end inquiries into its business practices. It requests $40 million in compensatory damages from the advertising firm.”

Now the advertising firm is countersuing the NRA. End result-lots of dirty laundry aired!

A day after the National Rifle Association filed a lawsuit saying its reputation had been smeared by its most prominent contractor, that contractor claimed in its own filing that it had been smeared by the N.R.A.

The dueling claims escalated the legal battle between the N.R.A. and Ackerman McQueen, an advertising firm that has worked with the gun group for nearly four decades. The bitter split between the organizations sparked a recent power struggle between Wayne LaPierre, the N.R.A.’s chief executive, and Oliver North, an Ackerman employee who was ousted as the N.R.A.’s president last month.

Ackerman is seeking $50 million in the counterclaim it brought on Thursday in state court in Virginia, a filing that was previously reported by The Daily Beast. The N.R.A., in two separate suits against Ackerman, had accused it of refusing to fully cooperate with an audit, defaming Mr. LaPierre and breaching confidentiality agreements.

Ackerman rebutted those allegations in its suit, saying that it had “complied with every audit” requested by the N.R.A. — including one in February — and that it itself was defamed by the gun group.

The more La Pierre spends on clothing and vacation, the less money the NRA has. I hope he stays and continues to spend!

“Brian Mittendorf, an Ohio State University accounting professor who has studied nonprofits, including the NRA, and examined the 2018 report for The Post, said it depicted “a bad year for them financially.” He compared the NRA to a person living paycheck to paycheck, leaning on credit cards with very little cushion.

“They’ve never exhibited extreme financial conservatism,” Mittendorf said. “They’ve largely spent what they could.”

The National Rifle Association is overdue on more than $1.6 million in unpaid bills, according to a new court filing made by its longtime advertising firm.

On Wednesday, Ackerman McQueen, an ad agency that has for years worked with the National Rifle Association and runs the gun group’s media arm NRATV, filed a motion for a preliminary injunction against the NRA. It’s the latest move in a brutal court battle between the ad agency and the powerful pro-gun organization.

It could also spell the death of NRATV, a pro-Trump online TV network known for its culture-war content.
