How often do you run your dishwasher?

Family of 3: every day.

All three of us take lunches to work/school. We also cook or bake from scratch at least once a day, and use leftovers that had been stored in the fridge. So there are a lot of dishes.

We hand wash pots/pans and most of our coffee mugs.

Oooo, yes! Bathroom habits — sign me up for that convo. I’ve been dying to know if DH is alone in peeing just 3x a day. Are any of you part-camel? Please discuss.

Family of three. I run it every 2 to 3 days, and I hand wash my pots and pans.

Family of four with two teen boys. I wash nothing by hand - everything goes in the dishwasher, and I do two loads a day. One in the morning, and in the evening.

2. We have a dishwasher that runs quick 30 minute loads. I will never buy another dishwasher without this short cycle. DH and I both work from home, so we use lots of dishes. When we weren't working from home, it would usually be one load per day.

Me! I go morning and night and ocassionally one other time in between. But it's because I just don't have a high fluid intake. I guess I just live perpetually dehydrated.

Oh, and my family of four runs the dishwasher every other day.

We're also a family of 4 and use dishwasher 2x week. Pots and pans are washed by hand as are mixing bowls and knives. Sometimes I end up washing other small items by hand too. And agree with PP sometimes I hate putting a Pyrex dish or Tupperware and take up all the space so I end up washing more than I should to make other plates fit.

Why would you waste time washing by hand? Why would you use the extra water to wash by hand when dishwashers use so little?

Family of 3, every other day to every 3rd day, depending on if it’s the weekend/busy eat-out week.

Family of 6 and we do it about every other day to every two days.

We're terrible people, though, and use paper plates for nearly every meal and also use Solo type cups. If we didn't do that, I can absolutely see us running it each day or twice a day.

You can't put all cookware in dishwasher like cast iron pans. And for others just not a great idea if you value your cookware. If it's cheap maybe not a big deal. Same with knives.

2x/day. I cook a lot and refuse to hand wash. If it can’t go in the dishwasher ( with the exception of my knives) I don’t buy it.
