Jeff Bezos and wife are divorcing...

Always a bit sad to hear marriages come to an end. They got together for a reason and it was for a long time. Money doesn't always make you happy. She's quite successful herself. Can't really say who is at fault. People drift apart. And needs are not met. So someone is not satisfied, why bother prolonging the togetherness.

His twitter statement was sweet. You can tell he recognized that she was a critical part of everything he is today.

I don’t think it was sweet at all. I think it was a total dickhead statement. If he would “do it all over again” why is he divorcing now?

Those kids don’t care they are rich. They’d like there parents to be together.

I bet he will end up with another smart geeky woman.

He seems like a socially awkward geek.

Or Amber Heard, because she is freaky like that.

He is a geek and a dork. And he married his last wife because she was smart. He’ll bang supermodels but I doubt he’ll marry a 24 year old airhead. If anything it’ll be a 35 year old mit grad.

No friggin way. Looks at the Google founder Sergey Brin who dumped his brilliant wife - he took up with hot young thing in the marketing department. Same goes for Eric Schmidt and his "open relationship" with his WASP'y wife (she doesn't look thrilled), as he cavorts on the global party scene with girls 20-30 years younger.

These guys will never get married again - they have an endless stream of women to date.

I read it as a way to say that they love the products of their marriage (i.e. their kids) and have no regrets about that. I thought it was classy (certainly better than the Trump style billionaire divorce where they hurl accusations at each other in the media).

Interesting, they only dated 3 months and worked at the same hedge fund in 1993. Engaged, married, and moved cross country within 1.5 years, wow!

“My office was next door to his, and all day long I listened to that fabulous laugh,” she remembers. “How could you not fall in love with that laugh?” She began her campaign to win him over by suggesting lunch. Within three months of dating, they were engaged. Three months after that, they were married. At the time, she was 23 years old.

Yeah, it's a sweet story. They seemed like a nice couple compared to the other crazy billionaires. Too bad they didn't make it.

Is ‘loving exploration’ the new catchphrase for cheating?

I get the impression Mackenzie was depressed in the marriage. Bezos does not seem like Brin or Schmidt.

That statement was very Gwyneth Paltrow. I was waiting for them to use conscious uncoupling.
