This. x1000. Some of these caged kids have reportedly attempted suicide and Humans Rights monitors have reportd that the guards are not allowed to hug or even comfort the children. Some Americans have lost their moral compass, but the rest of us will not allow it to continue. |
+1 This warrants significant sanctions against the US. Hit Trump in his wallet - only language he understands. |
NP. You’re making this up. You don’t have evidence. Mexico, for example, is not a hell hole. Plenty of people live safe and happy lives there. Perhaps you need to travel more? |
+1 to all of this. I was a two-time Obama voter and I consistently called/wrote my fed reps about this during his administration. My reps are uber conservatives and frankly didn't give a damn about doing anything about it then, and I don't think they really care now. But I did/do, and I spoke up and will continue to do so. Trump brings all this scrutiny on himself because he is a cretinous loudmouth. Maybe if he could shut up for two seconds and get off Twitter, he could enact his evil in private. Lucky for us he doesn't, and so we know exactly what he is up to - trying to destroy our democracy. |
Does that personal responsibility extend, in your view, to the many uneducated and un/under-employed whites in this country who do little to nothing to improve themselves? I live in a part of the country with many of these people, and while I am not unsympathetic to their plight many of them are every single bit as lazy and willfully ignorant as some non-whites your side loves to denigrate. Or, in your mind, are they just victims clamoring to pick fruit and slaughter cows if only these blasted immigrants would just leave? Because yeah, I don't know a single uneducated poor white in my area who would do any of those things. . .and they absolutely love THEIR government handouts.

I assume you are willing to pay the price, then? You understand that when wages rise for agricultural jobs, many of which are physically brutal and disgusting, that food costs rise, too? I am personally willing to pay the price for both my own family and in taxes to absorb the enormous impact this would have on our nation's poor (and particularly poor children), but are you? |
This is not new.

You realize most of these people are not from Mexico, right? They happen to be currently in Mexico because it is the land mass south of the US, but they are fleeing from harrowing situations in other countries. |
DP here. Then, they can seek refuge in Mexico. No need to make the dangerous journey to our southern border. |
Republicans are hypocrites.. they only bring up the needy in America when they want to use it as an arguing point against immigrants. Otherwise they want to get rid of ACA, Medicare, food stamps, CHIP,etc. How do you plan on helping all these Americans when u can’t bear to pay more taxes. |

I as saddened as most about the separation of kids from parents. I hold AG Jeff Sessions most accountable. Fire Jeff Sessions. But to be fair, President Obama also separated kids.
Letting the children's moms, older sister(s), aunts in w the children immediately would ease off this onerous situation. I've written everyone, all key players, or called today. Have you? |
You should have written Obama’s, these detentions started in 2014 |
|
Kind of bored with this already.
If you really care about brown American children, then stop importing them from other countries. We can't raise wages if people just leak through the borders. |
This actually brought tears my eyes. So very sad. I don't understand this kind of thinking at all. |
