where's this? |
Definitely change. |
This is true at every Club. |
I’ve seen some really nice parents change completely as their kid rose up the ranks. I can’t even talk to one couple anymore. They only ever want to talk about their kid’s soccer. And they are really arrogant about it. You see, their kid is destined for the National team according to them because of the latest spot on new team next year. I don’t think they are dealing in reality. |
Exactly. Though Stoddert parents tend to be very educated. DD played on another team where the coach was caught ‘sexting’ 11 year old girls and those parents chalked it up to the coach ‘having a bad day’ and hired him for private training !
|
| I've got one kid in DA and one kid mid-level NCSL. I've seen DB parents at both levels and I've also made friends for life at both levels. It's hard to generalize, other than saying that most parents at U9 and U10 take it way too seriously. |
Academy style was a disaster for our kid as well and we are switching back to our original club. |
| We left coach-led and switched to Academy style because coach was awful and the club made no adjustments. In Academy-style, all players received the same training regardless of team/coach. |
| DD spent the year entire playing all-game, every-game on "team2" in her age group. Coach of "team1" basically doesn't give time of day to anyone else in the age group who isn't a) kissing a$$ (which I don't have the time of patience for), or b) already on his team - so no info to suggest that the coach would take DD onto "team1" next year, even though he is losing half his players to other clubs. (As such, not sure we want to have her play for him anyway). We were not thrilled about paying so much $$ for an experience that we thought she could honestly get in rec. So when DD got a DA offer @ another club, she accepted. |
so did you complain to mys or did any parents let the DOC know....you guys just let the coach do this at the club? |
| Is this why MYS Girls 2004 is practically dissolving? |
Here is the way it works. Everyone(DOC, etc) knows what is going gone and is on board. The coach can do thing that are the opposite of the club’s mission statement. It is much easier to get new kids vs fire and hire a new coach. |
Hard thread to follow, but if this is 12U Girls, McLean fired him before and they can fire him again. No age group head should be allowed to do this. Get a new TD then! Parents should care on the Board. WTF. Are you the OP or a NP? |
to the posters asking about what is wrong with the pre-ecnl girls development at mclean .... this! |
| Parents yelling "shoot" "send it" and "clear it" at my DC. (He told one parent to be quiet.) I am sure it will be little different at new club. |
