I INVESTED money in land near downtown Bethesda, which has appreciated and will continue to do so. The schools are good as well! |
Lang found the forum! |
| No, we purchased in MoCo to be close to our jobs and have a better commute. |
Ok I'm about sick of these annoying, anonymous heffas getting in hear somehow proclaiming they are better, more informed, care, strategic parents than anyone else. Just shut up now. Just go away. Move somewhere you like the school system and fellow parents (Mars, perhaps). The rest of us will go on living our lives and sending our kids to school. |

Yes, we are all stupid parents and you are the only smart one. Or maybe, we see our kids progressing, and with the amount we're saving by not sending our kids to private school, we can supplement our kids' education with outside lessons. |
| I moved to MOCO to be near the best publics, the best privates, the best country clubs, the most billionaires and the prettiest landscape while being embedded in the DC culture and not across a river from it. |
Can someone link to the audit? |
It’s in the OP of the board of ed curriculum review thread. |
for how much longer? I've been in the system for over 20 years as a teacher. born in Mo Co - spent my entire lifetime in this county Don't depend on Bethesda "holding out" for much longer. |
ok really - heffas? My 9th graders in the early 2000s were using that term. Seriously, PP, if you want to make a point, argue without using slang. You're not making MCPS parents look good. |
| Believe me I am rooting for the system to get its act together. I’m a homeowner and a parent. But we won’t see that improvement if parents don’t lock up some dust. The defensive peeps on here who don’t like the complaining are short-sighted. An improvised system will benefit you in every way. Short term pain for long term gain. |

doubtful Foundational skills from the MAP aren't shared. I know them b/c I understand the MAP and have administered it. So I understand my kids' scores. This isn't true of most parents. Most parents are in the "Ignorance is bliss" state, as the PP stated. We are moving our two-teacher HH out of the MCPS! And while my kids are considered "high achievers" in this county, I do wonder how that translates over into a new county. But as a teacher, I can figure things out. Non-educators have a more difficult time doing so. Peace out, pals! I saw this coming years ago, and while I tried to ride it out, it's become one big tsunami. |
| Ack and improved not improvised, damn spell check! |
