Daughter tanked every midterm -- all As to all Bs (possibly one C)

I told her to grub and she begged her way to 3 As this week.

You must be so proud of her.

No, still heated. And it's embarrassing to still be grubbing as a senior. Further, As and Bs as a senior is far from great.

Still? Wow, you've had her doing this throughout HS? Gotta wonder what kind of recs her teachers will write.

and to be clear there is little benefit to hard work as a senior. Sounds like she did a CBA and interpreted the results accurately. OP should be aware that her daughter will fit right in with most of the work force, focusing on work that has benefits and not just mindlessly following directions with no payback. She should be a great CEO or MBA.

You have some pretty high expectations there. Out of curiosity, what was your daughter's score on the SAT or ACT?

That is a good score. Hopefully she'll learn her lesson and work harder from here on out.

How to you beg for As? Her teachers artificially raised her grades because she smiled and said pretty please? Wow.

Yeah, I don't understand this.
When DD had less than perfect grades, I advised her to go ask her teachers if there was any way she could improve her grades, say, through extra credit, or re-doing homework or tests. But she did this before the end of the semester, when she had time to improve her grades.
"Grubbing" seems just weird. Does your DD go to a private school, OP?
