So what's your favorite neighborhood restaurant?

And I love that you bitch about a "thinly sourced story" (that clearly isn't), and you post a tweet in support of your little claims.

Favorite restaurant, you mean in 20016? Black Salt. At least on those rare occasions in the spring when they have shad roe. Of course, you have to call ahead for shad roe, as it is hit or miss. And it is usually sourced from South Carolina or Georgia (that's the U.S. state founded by Oglethorpe, not the former Soviet Republic in the Caucasus). Though a long-time resident knows the Potomac and its tributaries were long an excellent source for the shad roe. And every spring Rock Creek fills with spawning shad and it is one of the best things about DC in the spring, especially as they viewed best near the always Dumbarton Bridge, curved, carved with Indian heads and adorned with the imposing Alexander Phimister Proctor Bisons.

Oh, I'm a regular at Wagshals Market, which as a long time resident of the area I can tell you used to be Waldenbooks. If you really want to get insider-y, Wagshals is managed by absolutely wonderful woman named Pam. Pam is an overweight, mustachioed, Jewish lesbian from Baltimore. She knows her food very, very well and stands for none of the kind of nonsense you are proffering here.

Ok, now that I have established (or at least should have established, if you aren't painfully stupid, which seems more and more likely as this progresses) my bona fides, lets present you with a few more things that seem like obvious truths:
-the WaPo article reeks of hersay at best or active disinformation at worst. Honestly, is there anything that sounds credible in that piece? Anything that can be verified?
-Katrina vanden Huevel, a respected journalist and HRC supporter, has no trouble seeing the article for what crap it is. I quoted her to show you that even people who don't like Trump see this 'Russian meddling' story as dubious.
-You are clearly some combination of stupid/ignorant/evil. I'll let you decide what you are, but I will tell you unless you like being ruled by Donald Trump, you should drop the BS lines and start getting smart, pronto!

Wow Russian intelligence is really impressive!!

Or she works for the Russian Embassy, as she flatly denied any Russian involvements. Her arrogance is typical Russian too.

this is a Nothingburger.

There is a Russian cultural pride in 'vranyo' - in lying where everyone knows you're lying, and where being honest is a fool's game at best or incredibly politically suicidal at worst. Like pretending Putin is literally the world's strongest, most shirt-averse man, or that that psychopath pres of Chechnya is that plus a political genius. It's cultural, pervasive and corrosive and it seems pretty fucking obvious that disease is all over this board. So this game of pretending Russian involvement in 2016 was a 'Nothingburger' (^ hey idiot! Spasiba for reading, no capital letter was required, but I'm sure you're on your phone and can now type 800 paragraphs 'proving' you were born and raised by Capitol Hill) is vranyo in a big way.

NP. Have you seen the excellent FX drama, "The Americans" about a married couple of Russian spies who live across the street from an FBI agent? They spend years establishing themselves as innocuous travel agents and parents to two kids. A big contributor to their credibility is the constant American incredulity that Rurssia could actually pull off something like this.

It's a brilliant show.

Except for the premise that there are still viable travel agencies. They should gave been involved in something like cybersecurity.

The show "The Americans" is set in the early 1980s....so, uh, yeah, viable travel agencies. If you live/d in the U.S., and are old enough to post here, you'd know that's how virtually all travel was arranged well up until the late 1990s.

This forum is so disappointing now. I remember how smart it used to be, before this vile infestation of trolls, bots and to use Trumpspeak, losers.

In between all these stupid posts calling other posters Russian trolls, has anyone actually taken the time to check out the organization WaPo used as their main source - Prop or Not?

Very scary that a supposedly credible news organization like WaPo would promote this alleged non-partisan group of "experts" and what they say is Russian propaganda or not. No one knows who actually works for Prop or Not. They refuse to let anyone know. We have no idea who is funding them or if they are actually experts in anything.

And their list of supposed Russian propaganda news orgs include prominent, respected organizations on both sides of the political aisle.

As article says, some of the organizations, websites and blogs on that list are unknowingly spreading Russian propaganda by spreading "facts" and stories that originally appeared on RT.com and Sputnik News. For example, a common story on those sites, both right and left is that the U.S. overthrew the Ukrainian government in 2014. See here: http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2014/mar/19/facebook-posts/united-states-spent-5-billion-ukraine-anti-governm/

Had anyone even heard of the organization before the WaPo article? What evidence do we have that they're credible?

Given how easily Trump promulgated false news to his large audience, it's completely plausible that he was identified by the Russians as a useful idiot who could sow civil discord and distrust in the government.

I will take that as a "no" from you then.

But you're now suggesting Trump is a Manchurian candidate? You guys need to get a hold of yourselves. The hysteria is unreal.

I'm the PP and have no interest in the background of Prop or Not. I simply commented that Trump's behavior makes it plausible that he was an effective tool for spreading false information.

Manchurian candidate? That's your suggestion, not mine.
