Is there any basis for zodiac signs?

Wrong.

I couldn't even make it through that very long posting before my bullshit meter blew it's top. If you read that whole thing and believe the crap that it's spewing, then I don't think NASA or any other person is ever going to change your mind. But, WOW, I can't believe you follow all that planetary energy baloney.

If you are so offended by zodiac signs, then I have no clue why you wandered into this thread. Clearly it's not for you and you don't believe it, congratulations- nobody cares.

OP asked a question and I answered, along with the vast majority of people here who went to science class and determined you're a fool. I hope you don't dump a lot of money into this.

"The dates for the Western zodiac calendar have, it turns out, shifted, with each one starting later — like, a lot later. If you were a Capricorn born in early to mid-January, you're now a Sagittarius.

Cancers born in early to mid-July? Stop being such emotional cry-babies. You're actually Geminis.

The western zodiac has shifted, says NASA.
Oh, and there's a new 13th astrological sign now: Ophiuchus. Sounds like a "Matrix" character, we know. But those of you born between Nov. 29 to Dec. 17, you're all now Ophiuchus-es.

NASA broke the news early this year in a blog post that explained that when ancient Babylonians created the zodiac over 3,000 years ago, they wanted dates on the calendar to correspond with star constellations. But, there were 13 constellations, and they were working with a 12-month calendar. So they ditched Ophiuchus.

NASA also pointed out that the Earth's axis doesn't even point in the same direction as it did when the original constellations were drawn, so all our signs have different date ranges now anyway.

In other words: astrological chaos. And the science nerds at NASA don't even care that they've upended our lives. They released a statement last week explaining, "Here at NASA, we study astronomy, not astrology. We didn’t change any zodiac signs, we just did the math.”

Here are the brand-new astrological dates and signs, if you can bear to look.

Capricorn: Jan. 20 to Feb. 16

Aquarius: Feb. 16 to March 11

Pisces: March 11 to April 18

Aries: April 18 to May 13

Taurus: May 13 to June 21

Gemini: June 21 to July 20

Cancer: July 20 to Aug. 10

Leo: Aug. 10 to Sept. 16

Virgo: Sept. 16 to Oct. 30

Libra: Oct. 30 to Nov. 23

Scorpio: Nov. 23 to Nov. 29

Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 to Dec. 17

Sagittarius: Dec. 17 to Jan. 20"

Well NOW it makes sense I always knew that b* was a Gemini, not a Cancer.

I am not even on there

And spouted off about something you admittedly didn't even read or take the time to understand. Carry on. The self-assured ignorance is a great look.

My mistake, yes, I am there.

The earth's rotation and orbit have changed since the zodiac signs were created. If they ever did mean anything (which I doubt) they certainly don't anymore.

Do you really think anyone is going to spend 30 minutes reading some loser's astrology blog? It makes absolutely no sense.

If they qualified to spout off about something, i would expect they would take the time to actually read what they are speaking about.

And "some loser's astrology blog"- how out of it can a person be? I guess you never read Elle or Vogue...(why am I not surprised)

I guess you never read Scientific American or, you know, an actual news source.

I think the Amazing James Randi makes a fine conclusion here when demonstrating the accuracy of horoscopes.

I was on a jury in a two week trial once. One juror suggested we plot out astrological charts. One juror adamantly opposed this. I asked her if she believed in astrology and firmly answered no. So I asked her if we did not believe in it, what harm could it do? But she was dead set against it. I had the feeling that she was probably an evangelical who feared the occult.

Liar. There is no way you can imply that fashion magazines prove astrology is real and then claim you read Scientific American. I can guarantee you have never touched that publication. There is no such thing as constellations or "energy from the planets" influencing your past, present, or future. You've been duped big time. It doesn't even follow the constellations or planets as they now exist.

There is. But keep on keeping mind. It doesn't bother me that closed-minded losers such as yourself cannot imagine a world where someone is capable of holding viewpoints you don't agree with and also keeping up with the news. Your type has been around for a while, it's nothing new or groundbreaking.

Anonymous wrote:As a scorpio who thought that Pisces was going to work out let me tell you....run, run now and run far from the Pisces. So much emotional baggage just laid out before you. Nice guy but really a punk when you look back at it all. Also has a hidden really nasty side to them. They tend to be beautiful people so they get lots of attention and cheating is always an option for them and they think of it as a great romance that was meant to be, until it isn't. Avoid Pisces at all cost

Another scorpio here with a pisces ex husband. I had a similar experience as you, though I don't think my XH cheated.

Anyway, married to a taurus now. And there are definitely fireworks but we are in it for the long run.
