Yesterday Chris Christie disagreed with Trump about Trump's treatment of the Khan's family for the first time after a long time. Granted it was not strong wording: http://time.com/4435900/chris-christie-donald-trump-khans-aide/

Also yesterday Christie's aide and his strongest corporate backer came out to support Hillary. Seems to me that Christie had a deal with Trump to be VP and it fell apart. He was waiting for the right moment to break this unholy relationship and the time has come...I am hoping he might be next to withdraw his support from Trump.

What do you think?

I have no doubt that Christie did not get what he hoped for. But at this point he has thrown in his lot so strongly with Trump that he will look like an even bigger buffoon if he walks away.

I think Chris Christie cares about his own political career, and nothing else. Everything he says and does is calculated to benefit himself. Hitching his wagon to Trump was his last chance. He is hated in NJ. He does not really care about the country in my opinion. He probably hates Trump and probably always has. He has no integrity left. And, by the way neither does McCain. He lost all credibility with me when he chose to try to put Palin a heartbeat away from the presidency. Now, he is finished. If he does not endorse Trump, he loses his primary in Arizona. IF he does endorse Trump, he loses in the general election. It is time for him to salvage any self respect and denounce Trump, and if he loses, he loses. It is time for him to retire. These guys can never give up their grip on power even when it is clearly time to go. Too bad, because I always admired McCain. Christie, not so much.

And the GOP is looking at options for what to do if Trump drops out -- which I don't see. But the fact that they're looking at it is telling.

Probably he will not get his political career back - but if I were in his shoes, I would have come out, apologized and work my butt off to trounce Trump...can at least get self-respect back!

I find it hard to believe that not endorsing Trump could hurt John McCain in the primaries. I know Trump is acting like a little baby and saying he won't endorse McCain because he thinks he should have done more for vets, or Paul Ryan because "he's just not there yet" (because Trump is a big bully who gets mad and threatens to ruin the whole game if other kids won't play with him), but I doubt Trump's lack of support would really affect primary votes. Would it really? If divi hope McCain doesn't cave.

He never cared about party unity and loyalty before. It was why he was always considered a "maverick" in the GOP. Now he is just an old man trying to hold his seat.
