Has there ever in history been so many defections from one's party because of a potential POTUS?

Goldwater provoked this reaction,

Eventually they will have all died off.

Goldwater provoked this reaction,

And we all (well some) know how that turned out for Goldwater.

Trump: "Screw me?? No, screw you!"

Trump is refusing to support Republicans Paul Ryan and John McCain in their reelection efforts. He's actively trash talking Republican Kelly Ayotte from New Hampshire.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-refuses-to-endorse-paul-ryan-in-gop-primary-im-just-not-quite-there-yet/2016/08/02/1449f028-58e9-11e6-831d-0324760ca856_story.html

I guess even the Repubs who don't disavow Trump will get pissed on.

On Paul Ryan: “I like Paul, but these are horrible times for our country,” Trump said. “We need very strong leadership. We need very, very strong leadership. And I’m just not quite there yet. I’m not quite there yet. ... [Ryan’s] opponent is a big fan of what I’m saying — big fan.”

On John McCain: “I’ve never been there with John McCain because I’ve always felt that he should have done a much better job for the vets,” Trump continued. “He has not done a good job for the vets and I’ve always felt that he should have done a much better job for the vets."

On Kelly Ayotte: "We need loyal people in this country. We need fighters in this country. We don’t need weak people."

With friends like these .... Good luck, Republicans.

None of this matters. Trump's supporters love the fact that the "Republican establishment" hates him, because they hate the Republican establishment too. Do you have any understanding of why Trump won the nomination?

+100.

Looks like a lot of GOP women are leading the anti-Trump effort. Good for them.
