I'll second that! OMG! This is unreal. I have been running a class through my kids' private school for the third year and ALL parents are raving about the quality of Kids Pro Soccer program. We had Coach Marcel and many others through the years and they have been truly loved by the children and parents. |
| wow, thank you. we were just about to sign our kids up for this. |
| Just to let you know, as a DCUM frequent user, we did read the horror stories, but per a friend recommendation, we did register last fall and absolutely loved it. We are in Bethesda and did a class at Candy Cane park. The instructor was fun and engaging. No problems at all. |
| has anyone had their child enrolled in the LewinsvillePark program? i'm thinking of siging up my 2 1/2 yr old ... |
| We started a class at a location in fairfax last weekend with our 2 year old daughter and we were pleased with the coach. He was very animated and so far no complaints. Not sure about the particular class, but we have had a good experience there. I hope that helps. |
| We used Golden Boot Lil Boots soccer for our 3 year old son and loved it. The class size was small so each kid got personal attention. Coach Olivia memorized their names within the first 5 minutes. Most importantly, my son had the best time learning about soccer. On the opposite end, we were extremely disappointed with Great Falls soccer club Little Kickers. There had to be over 40 kids which our son found overwhelming, and the coaches did not interact much with the kids. My son did not enjoy this program and asked to return to Golden Boot. |

We are coming back from our third class for our daughter who is six, in Alexandria and my husband and I are really pleased with the training. We were previously participating in the league in Alexandria and we have such a good comparison. The alexandria league was crowded and kids were coached by people who had no idea about soccer. My daughter is now in a small class and Coach Jeffry ( I think that's the spelling)is not only a professional player with solid skills but relates to kids in an amazing way.
There is a group for younger kids playing next door and the coach is hilarious so I think this a great experience for all of us here at the park. |
This nice comment is pertaining to Kids pro soccer whom we play with, not familiar with the other programs. |
| I was literally about to sign my 8 year old daughter up for the session beginning in May....now I'm a little nervous, given the mixed reviews! Anyone have any experience with the program in Alexandria, to be held at field off Telegraph Road?? Thanks! |

We have a 5 year old in the class at Jefferson manor park on Saturdays, and it is more than we expected. The group is small so that is great and Jeffrey, the trainer is just fantastic.
He literally gives all to those kids. He runs he demonstrates, he really teaches them and the drills are no longer like the regular tots class. We took it before and it was based on fun games and we loved it as well, but the current class is geared towards actual learning. It feels like a private session. He is just an amazing person with superb skills. I found out that he has an impressive background as well. If he can do this with 4-6 year olds, I am sure that the coaches there are great with the older kids as well. Marcel teaches the younger group and seems hilarious. The little kids love the class. We have nothing but good experience with them. I would ask for the coach who would be teaching before registering, perhaps?? |
| Thanks for the reply! And great idea to ask who'll be coaching. Thanks again! |
| Our 5yo is currently in a "private" class for a preschool in Reston. I have not been impressed at all with the customer service/professionalism OR the content/age appropriateness of the class itself. The coach (sorry, I don't know his name - I have not been at all the classes and am attending to my 1-year-old when I am there) was late at least twice and didn't show up at all this past Saturday. I have tried to call the office twice and gotten voice mail. After reading this thread, I am not hopeful for any kind of refund or even apology, but I still want to register my complaint. Aside from tardiness/absence, the coaches (there is also a younger group at the same time) do not relate well to the age group - for example, they'll say "get a partner and line up across from each other to kick" which results in mass chaos. Last week my child was excited to play a game as was promised by the coach - who then no-showed. I can see why they have an F rating. Too bad I didn't google this before signing up. |

Well, I definitely thought that the fact that we had one coach only last weekend was a bummer but everybody seems to enjoy the way coach Jojo is with the kids throughout this class.
I am not panicking yet, I will send an email to find out what happened. |

I am looking into programs for my 2 yr old - preferably in MD. It seems Kids Pro has mixed reviews. Are there any other options for 2 yr olds? I don't want to create a class - just participate.

My DD has been enrolled in the toddler Saturday morning class at Norwood Park. We had a male trainer in the first class who was very driven and actively involved with children, no complains. We signed up for a new class at the same venue and we had coach Casey and she is so far-fantastic. Kids pro has been around for a long time and I always hear positives at least in my area.
