Elementary school with a large Arab population

Also, only someone with an entitlement mindset who is already afforded all the privileges this country has to offer would even think it plausible that an immigrant family here illegally would be so demanding as to request no pictures. The very thought is so damn bizarre.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I've seen mothers making demands of teachers in Spanish via interpreter at back to school night. Can't even speak a word of English and is yelling at the teacher so you stop with this oh they are too meek to be demanding nonsense.

No all arabs are Muslim, many christian arabs come to the states to escape islamic persecution

Tru dat. Lebanon is about 40% Christian anyways.

Are Arab children counted as white for demographic purposes.

As a race, yes. Typically same as Hispanics (though Hispanic is often an additional modifier while Arab is not typically)

Race and ethnicity are different things. (i.e. in my case I am black AND Hispanic).

"Elementary school with a large white population?"

When white folks are persecuted and looking for a place to feel safe amongst peers than any poster would be free to ask that question. Until then they are not the same.

It wouldn’t be an unreasonable question in some schools where the white and/or English-population is minimal.

I think the thing is--you can easily find out what schools have large non-white populations by looking online, asking around, etc. It's a lot harder to answer OP's question.

Liar. If that were true they wouldn’t CHOOSE to come here.

Are you denying the fact that these schools are ran under the system of white supremacy?

Do you even understand what you are saying?

Do you think that the schools are teaching that whites are better than others? Because that is what you are saying with that statement.

That is not what that person is saying at all. BUT schools do teach largely about white accomplishments, teach white washed history and study after study shows that child of color are punished more frequently and more harshly than their white counterparts. So yeah school does perpetuate a system of white supremacy.

1. teach largely about white accomplishments,
Our Declaration of Independence was written by white men. Do you not think it is important that our children learn about this, our Constitution, and our government?
Do you think they should not learn about Abraham Lincoln, the President who wrote the Emancipation Proclamation?

We have a whole month dedicated to Black History. Every day, kids learn about the accomplishments of African Americans. It is interesting that Black History month (February) is the month that used to be dedicated to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. January is now dedicated to learning about Martin Luther King. So, I don't know how you can resent that.
Our country was largely founded by white Americans who came from Western Europe. That is called History--not supremacy.

What "white washed history" are you talking about? That has changed. If you don't think that recommending that a school be changed from Washington-Lee to Washington-Loving, indicates a change in behavior, you need to read the newspaper.

As for the children of color, yes, studies show that. But, there are lots of variables that can affect that. And, the schools are certainly working to change it.

Most of the Muslim in that area are not Arabs.

Agree.

Suggest that OP enroll her kids at the Saudi Academy. My guess is that there are quite a few Arabs there.

its rare to find schools where the white population is minimal

Nonsense. That's the case in parts of South Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Annandale, and Springfield. May be the case soon in Herndon as well.

List the schools you're referring to please. Just because there are higher percentages of minorities in these areas does not mean the kids are in the majority.

DP. Bailey's Elementary and Glenn Carlin Elementary each have a student population of less than 20 percent white. I'm sure if I looked up other schools in that area there would be others with similar numbers.

Why are you assuming OP is Muslim? 40% of people from Lebanon are Christian.

And PP's post ^^^ proved to everyone on this thread that she/he too was taught under white supremacy. Thank you for this lesson.
