Proof that Dunning-Kruger applies to emotional intelligence as well.

Honey, the word you are looking for is "implying," not inferring.

PP implies, you infer. And in this case, I believe, you have over-inferred.

You must be the fun one in your social circle.

I am. And one of the smartest, as well.

Blocks away from Wilson and well beyond the Metro stations and Wisconsin Ave bus stops the Wilson kids use.

Ah, you went there, not me. Lots of white kids, hispanic kids, blacks kids and kids of mixed "race" at Wilson. I was thinking only of the fact that Wilson has metal detectors and kids who have been arrested for assault - that is the shady part. When you have to worry about teenagers, of any skin color or ethnicity or economic background, carrying guns or knives or assaulting others on the metro, then you are clearly dealing with a shadier type of person, one who may be looking to rob, steal, or harm others. Also, the metro allows easier access and exit from the area for anyone to come to the area and commit crime.

Shockingly enough GDS has kids who have been in trouble with the law too. It has nothing to do with Wilson but with an increase of crime in the neighborhood. Kids are being targeted (both public and private) because the criminal element (one caught and description of others being sought all point to older criminals who don't live in the neighborhood) knows these kids have phones and probably some cash on them. Your shadier type of person can travel by car, bike, foot, bus, metro, etc. In fact, considering metro has cameras it is LESS likely due to the proximity of metro (or Wilson) for that matter. Metal detectors at Wilson has nothing to do with is at all.

Actually I live in the neighborhood and some Wilson students are acknowledged by all parties to be involved in petty nuisance behavior up to and including more serious documented crimes like fights and stabbings..so its fair to say they can be a part of Tenleytown crime. The other problem is people who drive or metro in looking for victims ans then rapidly move out. We need stronger juvenile justice in DC (all aspects of the system including follow up), patrolling and cameras. The High Schools should collaborate with the neighborhood and police as well, not turn a blind eye r put up a smokescreen. I would expect the same of GDS or Sidwell as good neighbors.

I have been in that area getting gas at dismissal time and had groups of students walking the the street fighting each other, swearing, smoking, and even saying rude and aggressive things to me. I felt unsafe and have no problem saying it. I can also say this is not a statement against any race because I have never felt unsafe at my children's private schools and they are both very diverse.

One gas station is close to GDS and one is close to SFS. Thoughts on where these kids may have come from?

I was referring to the Wilson students.

You don't know what you are talking about. There is a gas station near McDonald's on Wisconsin next to Tenley market. Not making it up. I have no dog in this fight.

Thank you for proving my point.

Now I am dying to know what two different private schools your children attend which are diverse.

Given this thread has moved on to bragging rights about relative intelligence of members of social circles and the locations of gas stations, I think it is fair to say that it has gone off-topic (unless the GDS victims is the most intelligent of his social circle and was attacked at a gas station). So, I am going to put it out of a whole bunch of peoples' misery.
