It is identical and very lame and not challenging at all. I have to supplement all the time... So do not hold your breath.
I feel that my youngest child suffered tremendously academically due to 2.0. Older kids were fine and challenged.

Mom of 5th grader who is going to Robert Frost next year, and just got ES in math almost for picking nose.
By the way curriculum is really lame because it makes kids more confused than challenged.
Often kids do not get correct answers since approach that is studied is so convoluted and kids even do not get what is asked and why.

P.S. I am not Asian, and I have Math degree.

You really need to learn to use definite and indefinite articles. It's distracting and it makes your posts less persuasive.

lol.. that's your rebuttal?

The same curriculum can be taught very differently by a different teacher to different kids...and be thought of differently by different parents.

I'm not rebutting anyone. I just parachuted in to comment that it's distracting to read a screed about how someone's child is too smart for their school when the author does not have command of English.

She did say she was a math major.

It's also distracting when people start getting their panties twisted about someone's "command of English" in a thread about MATH. Try to keep to the topic.

Do you know that many languages do not have any articles? Educate yourself.
I bet OP was not a native speaker.

Compacted math decisions for next year are going home today if they have not already been sent. All 3rd graders will be given a letter that either says they will be in 4th grade math or compacted math. If you do not agree with the decision, there is a form you can fill out.

How do you know? Did you get the letter already? Are you a teacher?

Do all schools send them out in the same time frame? Does it come from school or MCPS office?
Anonymous
Our teachers emailed the parents that the letters had been sent.

I am a teacher. They are being sent home with the children today at our school. All schools are following the same time chart which says they need to be sent today.

We already received our last week. DD was selected for 4/5 math and she started a review course this weekend to start practicing the work ahead.

Why would she need to do that? She would not have been selected if not qualified but if you are not confident..turn down the invitation!

PP here - we are confident. Just wanted her to be ahead. Several other families in our ES are also doing this advance work. This is time better spent than soccer or dance on the weekends and after school.
