What are some of the life lessons you've learned?

Live each day as if it were a gift.

Life can change in a day.

You have no idea what other people are going through.

OMG, hopefully people learn this not long after high school.

But here are a few things I have found:

Stay married unless you are in an abusive relationship; love is hard, it ebbs and flows, but after the first 25 year marriage gets easier

Don't try and solve all your children's problems; just be present and express your love and confidence in them

Don't accumulate so much stuff; life is easier with fewer things around, value experiences more than objects

Grandchildren are as great as everyone says, maybe better. If you are lucky enough to have them enjoy every minute.

Ask for help if you need it.

Save a little more each month if you can, you are going to need it later.

Try and have fun, you will be happier and so will those around you.

Be your own best friend and your own patent. Take care of yourself and be patient with yourself.

50 here. I love every word of this.

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by ignorance. Almost no one is out to get you.

Make haste to be kind. It costs little to assume that others have good intentions.

Don't smoke, limit yourself to an occasional two drinks, exercise, and floss daily. Master those things and your later life will be much better.

Plant yourself where you can grow.
You can't control how others perceive you.
Surround yourself with secure people--jealous folks are dangerous.
Surround yourself with happy people--negativity drains your battery.
Everything in moderation.
This too shall pass.
When things are awful, you are probably at the tipping point and things will get better
Change is hard but take risks because you only get one turn around the sun. Newness staves off depression.
Bet on yourself because you can't control anyone else,
The world will say no in 1,000 ways, but don't be the one to reject yourself or your own ideas. Know your worth.
Don't diet.
Exercise for mental health as much as for physical health.

Yes, in fact thing CAN get worse.
Your future is in your control. If things have turned out badly, it's because you made bad choices.
Most folks want you to do well. Let them help you.
If you don't need help. Find someone who needs your assistance.

You can't make someone love you. -- I'm 50yo and still working on that one.

- Dont worry about things or situations that will not result in harm to you or your loved ones. Everything passes.
- don't smoke
- Take care of your teeth
- Giving pays much higher dividends than receiving.
- Spend as much time as you can with your kids....they really do grow up fast.
- Enjoy your good health and looks while you have it.

I'm 33y/o my life lessons so far
- I don't know everything. There's always opportunities to learn and grow.
- I will never be flawless but I'm willing to work on my weaknesses
- Don't try to take on all your problems at one time. It's overwhelming and you won't achieve much success. Try to solve your problems on at a time.
- You are responsible for your own happiness.
- you have no control over others actions and behaviors, but you have control over yours.
- sometimes changing your perception of life event does the trick.
- you think you have problems wait to hear other people's problems. Be humble and appreciate the positive things in your life.
- take a break once in a while and do something spontaneous and fun for yourself. You work hard, you deserve it!
- laugh more often! Humor is truly an effective therapy when you are feeling down.
-don't compare yourself to others. Do not envy others. You have no idea what goes on behind closed doors.

Don't say everything that comes to your mind.
Be kind
Be considerate
Make friends
Try to keep friends
Keep your mouth shut at work if you want to keep your job
Travel as much as you can afford
stay married if at all possible
only have as many kids as you can afford

Brushing and flossing is not enough. Eat sugar in moderation, use a metal tongue scraper and mouthwash.
Get enough sleep, exercise, and nutrition.
Don't be sentimental about people who aren't sentimental about you.
Don't avoid discomfort. Seek it out and deal with it.
Process your emotions.
Rest, do yoga, and meditate to avoid burnout.
Improve your posture.
The best things in life are not things.
Spend time in nature.
Be your own best friend.
People can be immature, unenlightened, selfish, and cruel at any age.
Practice kindness.
Set boundaries.
Keep a sense of humor.
As June Alison in the Depends commercial said, "Never stop learning".
