Do you seriously want people to carry guns to rock concerts? Have you ever been to a rock concert?

Yes. The ones I attend? No issues.

Based on your taste of music, I wouldn't call those rock concerts and -- in true Ben Carson style -- almost everyone would have a belt buckle capable of stopping even heavy machine gun fire. Plus, the terrorists couldn't see over the hats.

I've been to see many rock concerts as well. I don't like hip hop and grunge metal, and don't know the types of folk that go. I do like rock, alternative rock, and some punk.

I do agree that country and folk fans are some of he finest people out there

I spent much of last summer in Paris and in the area of Lyon. Trump's assertion that "armed population" could deter this distorts the "facts on the ground" in France.

Unlike the US, where we have a civilian police force on our streets only ( and I like it that way frankly), in France atleast what I witnessed all summer is that the military is out in force at all public monuments ( like Eiffel Tower) all train stations, many parks. Similar to what you see only on White House lawn : armed in flak jackets hands carrying loaded machine guns and walking patrol.

At Eiffel tower we even saw them run into the bushes after someone ( with machine gun drawn.

Literally, the miltary were everywhere you looked and I don't see how an armed civilian could do " better".

It's quite simple. Mass murders usually occur in gun-free zones. There's a reason for that.

Not really. Mass murders occur where lots of people congregate, and a number of those happen to be gun free zones.

Most of these people off themselves. They are not trying to survive.

It does not good when everyone around them has loose gun laws.

Not sure where you go to concerts. Guns aren't allowed at Jiffy Lube Live, Merriwether, 930, Black Cat, State Theatre, and for a reason. And guns aren't much help against suicide vests.

NRA mythology to try and associate mass murders with "gun free zones" as the fact is, many mass shootings occurred in areas that were not gun free, and many mass shootings occurred even though and in spite of the fact there were "good people with guns" present.

The PP is correct - a determined mass killer doesn't care about "gun free zones" or whether there might be someone carrying. All they care about is finding a concentrated captive population so that they can kill as many as they can before getting killed, themselves. Anyone bent on doing a mass shooting does not care about their own life and whatever deterrent you think you will be with your concealed carry is not terribly relevant to them as they have likely already contemplated their act of mass killing to likely end up with some twisted reckoning of their mission being "going out with a blaze of glory."

Lots of people congregate at gun shows. Funny how there has never been a mass shooting there. Wonder why?

Well ... http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/01/11/1435631/gun-show-safety/

There's also never been a mass shooting at the Super Bowl, Yosemite National Park or the Whute House. Doofus.

Cities with strong gun laws are irrelevant because for example in Chicago all anyone has to do is drive 25 minutes to a gun show in Indiana and make a private purchase and not even have to get a background check. This is why NATIONAL policy is needed, and why states rights and local policy does not work.

I would like to see some statistics that this is what is happening.
Those promoting gun control continuously say this, but offer no proof that this is what is happening.

Don't know about Chicago, but there are no gun stores in the city of Washington, DC. There are no gun shows or events sponsored in DC. The armory, stadium, or convention center holds almost every type of event, except gun shows. Unfortunately for individuals living in the city who desire to mail order a rifle, hand gun, assault rifle, etc DC does not have a registered gun agent to first legally receive and take possession. So, people such as my hubby retain their out of state driver licenses and buy their weapons in other jurisdictions, but live in the city. It's not rocket science. It takes all of ten minutes to drive to points from DC into either MD or VA to purchase weapons. Walmart use to sell ARs in some of their MD stores.

Is your hubby a criminal? Did he purchase that gun with the intent of doing harm to innocents?
The left likes to say that the criminals in the cities with tough gun laws (where gun violence is high) acquire their guns from neighboring states.
I would like to see some reliable statistics to bear this out.

If he's fraudulently using an out-of-state ID to buy guns and then he's crossing state lines with them then yes, he's a criminal and part of the problem.

People get shot at guns shows all the time. http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/01/26/1500431/for-the-sixth-time-in-one-week-man-shot-at-gun-show/ - this article cites six gun show incidents in just one week - there are dozens and dozens more articles out there. Guess you don't ever hear about any of that from your truthful and honest FOX News.

From looking at what's going on in this country, it's pretty clear that there's a pretty sizeable percentage of gun owners and ammosexuals who really should not own guns - whether lack of training, mental illness, anger management problems, or just plain being fucking idiots.

I wonder if Charlie Hebdo will come out with a caricature of this. Although I agree that a dead toddler is a much easier target for laughs.

It pisses me off how shocked everybody is. Anyone with half a brain should realize the war will eventually make it home. Idiots.

If you think people at rock concerts in the USA don't already carry guns, you are hopelessly naive.
