Still doesn't matter. I do not want a mentally ill person addressing my child. Yes, if you're manipulating children by asking where they live, you are mentally ill. |
Really twisted and despicable. |
There's a mom in a MD car who drops off at our elem school. One day I pointed at her license plate, with a friendly smile said " you must have a bit of a drive over here.". She got very agitated and said "I don't have to talk to you." She drove away fast. |
Ask if you want. We borrow a car from family in MD while we work to afford a reliable one. We live in DC though. |
Hahahahaha, that's hilarious. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Huh. Is that in the DSM IV? |
So, if you're legit, you don't clam up, act like you're taking the Fifth and leave skid marks as you pull away, if someone makes a lighthearted remark about the MD plates. |
Or you can watch the parent who is an employee of DCPS get into his car with Maryland plates after a school function. My child told me a fellow student shared that he lived in Maryland yesterday. Same old same old....... |
I accidentally found out my daughter's dear friend was a residency cheat. The girl kept repeatedly asking for a play date so I said that I didn't know her mom yet but that we could meet up at a park - so I asked her where she lived and she said, robotically "Washington, DC." I didn't realize at first and I was like, "right, I meant what neighborhood." And she just kept insisting she lived in DC. Then I caught on.
But I didn't turn her in because she was 6 and I'm not a horrible person. |
Did you report them? |
Not trying to defend a possible residency cheater, but my child would answer the same thing. They memorize addresses and the city is "Washington, DC." I didn't think to have my child memorize the name of the neighborhood. Did you follow up with the mom about the play date? |
Okay maybe your kid is a genius, but at six my kid could not tell you that he lived in Woodridge. He could tell you that he lived in Washington, DC. He knew his telephone number, his address and 911. He die not know Woodridge. Come on lady, you are stretching. |
This is more common that you think. DC government employees act like party functionaries in the old Communist era, in that they feel there are privileges and perks there for the taking. |
Guess she was just late for work at the DC DMV. |
This. I'd wager that vast majority of residency cheats from MD and VA are DC municipal employees. Of course many work in DCPS - their friend is the one responsible for reviewing residency documents. If a principal want to keep their job, they ignore the cheating otherwise they'll be labeled a "rat." And then you have the case of the two MPD cops who got busted last year. The system is rotten to the core. And don't get me started on all the District employees who have handicapped placards.....ugh. |
