My leashed dogs have been attacked and strays or dogs walking off leash have attacked my unleashed animals on and off my properties.

so what?

How dare you write so what?
Yesterday a negligent neighbor's dog who has bitten and attacked once again got loose. We were trapped in our house unable to walk to vehicles, walk outdoors with our dog, even take out trash. They have a pit mix and now another.

Rampaging dogs. What are you? The rescue freak that takes pits and rotts to petsmart? FYI a judgement just came down for the child hurt at a petsmart. http://www.newschannel6now.com/story/29683301/settlement-decided-in-2013-dog-attack-case

I know of pits thrown out of daycare that go on off leash outings and to dog parks.

Not OP's responsibility. It is the responsibility of the owner to obey the law.

Anonymous wrote:I completely agree with you and I wish my neighbor would read this!!! Her dog runs the neighborhood as if it's her own. She is loud and enjoys chasing anything that moves (I think it's the breed). This is a real problem because I have young children who are afraid of her. Although we live near a busy highway, she allows her dog to roam the neighborhood parking lot (townhomes) and her dog is at risk of being accidentally hit since she runs all over the place. The dog is also very loud and does not get along with the other dogs in the neighborhood. All other neighbors use leashes! The owner has watched and encouraged her dog to chase/bother neighbors and has stood by and watched as her dog has barked and snarled at delivery people. (I've had to go out and chase her off twice when she cornered people delivering to our home.) I have talked to the owner about it on a number of occasions and she usually walks her dog on a leash for a day or two afterward but it doesn't last. SO FRUSTRATING and inconsiderate - not to mention dangerous.

Can you call the police? This sounds like an aggressive dog.

I agree OP. It always seem to be dogs that are not well trained too. The worst is when you are walking your dog and some unleashed dog comes over and they aren't getting along. My kids and I have been pounced on by huge "friendly" dogs. We have neighbors who will literally go right by a sign that says "all dogs must be on leashes" and defy it.
