Wait, you are a legacy and you could not get into an Ivy? |
"Qualified" black students don't even have to wait for early admission- they get a "likely" letter basically saying they will be admitted.... Imagine the entitlement- the message is you are too important to wait like the others. |
You see this entitlement in the interview process- I had students ask me what one of the worlds greatest schools "can do for me" |
| And with this early affirmation no wonder they stick to they safe embrace of victim status- see Michelle's Princeton senior thesis or our wise Latina Supreme Court justice thesis (same though a little better written). |
. Not pp, but it is clear the poster conducted interviews for his or her Ivy. In any event a legacy is by no means an open door to admission. |
No, I'm assuming PP was an alum that did alum interviews for her/his alma mater and did not like the overt race quotas/affirmative action that is being practiced by the adcom. |
Put it this way - white people don't want racist professors any more than blacks. |
| Like how he says that Asians worked DOUBLY hard...he is implying that Asians should work harder than whites to get the same thing? |
Can't get in his mind, but I think he meant that they worked doubly hard to get over their treatment. Looks like it has worked. They are now protesting affirmative action at Harvard. |
To be clear, Asians are not protesting "affirmative action at Harvard," what they are fighting is affirmative DISCRIMINATION against them at Harvard. And they seem to have the numbers to prove it. |
Here is how it's going to work. A bunch of mediocre white students are going to complain about how "the blacks" get Affirmative Action. Eventually they will get it struck down. Then the colleges will be flooded with Asian students. Then the same mediocre white students will complain about foreigners taking their spots. |
Look at Nobel prize winners in any given year and tell me white students cannot xompete. |
The last two DOJ complaints (not scotus cases) have been sparked by asians. Are there whites in cali complaining about asians at Cal & UCLA? I know whites complain about asians at TJ and Stuy. |
Whites are complaining about blacks. But the affirmative action plans they attack benefit them by reducing the number of Asians. So this is going to be a case of "careful what you wish for". |
