Would you allow your 10 yo to roller skate in the house?

Only on the concrete in the basement.

I remember doing this at a friend's house growing up. Very fun!

If you think it is safe and don't care if the floors get scratched, sure. We don't have room for skates but my kids rode their little cars and trikes inside. Now they play basketball with mini hoops and balls. They also build couch forts. We don't jump on the beds, though, because we have slats, not box springs.

When they are older we will refinish the floors again. It's a home, not a museum, and half of the occupants need to be physical a lot. Not a big deal to me.

I'm going to go clear a loop for my kids in the basement. Sounds like fun!

I did this too, with rollerblades in my family's unfinished basement! I spent hours circling around the basement to Michael Jackson's Dangerous album on cassette. Only hard part was dodging the sump pump.

My 8y.o. sometimes rides his Heelys around the house. I'm not a huge fan, but we're not in the kind of neighborhood he can go out alone and cruise around in so if no one can go with him he's cooped up inside and little things like this make it tolerable. Floors can be refinished.

It will damage the floors, so no; but actually, if my kid could manage to roller skate, I'd be so thrilled I'd let him do it on my car.

NO!
