| Absolutely yes if it's tile floor or cement in the basement or garage...I do slalom skating and that's how I started and it's how I skate on rainy days. We have tiles throughout. But absolutely no on wood floors or laminate - it WILL damage the floor. |

I roller skate in my house, and I'm 41.
We have older durable completely ugly floors, so it's no big deal. That said, skateboards, ripsticks, scooters, etc. go outside because those have a tendency to accidentally shoot through plate glass windows. |

In the basement, sure. Not upstairs, but mostly because there wouldn't be enough room.
Of course, this is coming from someone whose dad built her a balance beam and let her do handsprings on that beam in the basement growing up, so possibly my standards are a little whacked. |
We own the place and our downstairs neighbor is the parking garage. |
| Yes, I let my dd's roller skate around the first floor. We have hard wood floors and some cheap linoleum. I haven't seen a single scratch. My dd's are 7 and 9. |
| I broke my wrist doing this |
| I would but my DH's head would explode, so no outdoor stuff inside the house. I kind of hate having wood floors now because he is so focused on them not getting scratched. Ugh. Seems like setting oneself up for misery. |
Wrist guards next time. |

No, I wouldn't allow skating in the house.
|
| Um, no! |
|
No. You will ruin your floors

+1 My kid is really well behaved in public, probably because I let him do all kinds of crap at home. |
| yes I probably would let my kid (s) do this, so long as my floors could take it. |
| My 10 year old is skating inside right now! He does nearly every day. I haven't noticed any floor scratches though our floors are not pristine. |
