In outdoorsy circles, everyone drives subarus. So it depends on your circle. |
| How about the new Subaru Crosstek hybrid? |
| Get a wagon. VW SportWagen, Volvo or Audi. |
| Let's remember to file this post under "trying too hard." |
| Sport wagon is a great choice. |
I also miss my Saabs- had 3 of them in succession. Drive a car that is nothing like a Saab. Except for being safe. But, it's extraordinarily reliable and oriented towards passenger comfort. I agree |
Well this is just plain wrong. They only sell about 3,000 +/- Landcruisers annually in the US. On average, that is 60 landcruisers per state. Not nearly enough to support conformist demand. Conformist would be a Highlander. More than 200,000 sold per year in the U.S. That is more than 4,000 per state on average. |
You dug up a four year old thread for that? |

Non-conformist car choice? How about an Alfa Romeo?
The Stelvio SUV is (IMO) decent looking https://www.alfaromeousaofvienna.com/new-vehicles/stelvio/ The Giulia sedan is hot! https://www.alfaromeousaofvienna.com/new-vehicles/giulia/ One thing is for sure, you will not see dozens of other Alfa’s every day (I realize the OP probably replaced his Saab since he posted some years back, but just wanted to throw this out there for anyone else in the same situation) |
+1,000. Best way to save a lot of money over time |
| Op I totally get you and feel the same way about my cars. Looked at the jaguar but just got the Alfa Romeo SUV and am very happy. Fun to drive and gets positive attention. I used to have a Mini and loved driving that too. Good luck with your search. |
| My H drives a VW GTI w/the Autobahn package and loves it. We see some here and there, but not a ton. |

A 1960s Muscle car. Back in my early 30s I drove a black 1969 Charger for a few years. I had another car. But I drove the Charger a lot. Drove folks with 100K plus cars or brand new cars nuts. My old girlfriend at time used to say lets take your jeep wrangler as I don't have time for all the talking. Every time I parked car folks would come up to me, at gas station, waving. Here is one for sale for $17K. The car seats a lot of folks, big trunk and very practical. But man folks love it. Meanwhile 17K would barely get you a brand new base model chevy
