| How about a $120 brighton gift. Yes, I do expect a handwritten note put inside my kids backpack. |
| Gifts should not be given with an expectation. You have poor manners. Are you new money? |
| No, not new money. Was raised with manners, though. Not really an 'expectation' when one writes a hand-written thank you note for a rather nice gift. Manners, not expectations. Difference. |
|
But you judge her for not delivering a thank you note within 4 days, which is not standard.
Your manners are poor. |
| Well, look at it this way, the teacher could put on a movie or some other type of busy work for your kid, while she sits down and writes "thank you notes." Or, she could do what she is paid to do: teach. |
| 4 days?? No, I made no mention of the amount of days. I'm talking nice gifts over 8 years and NEVER a note of thanks - verbal or otherwise. |
| Movies is exactly what my kids go the last 2 days. Nice point. |
|
"from us early this week" in the OP.
Isn't it time for bed in Austria? |
| I teach in a Title One school so I rarely get gifts. I did get one today and quickly wrote a thank you note before I forgot. If I worked in a school where all or most of my students gave me gifts, I would write notes over break. |
+1!!!! |

I bet she is not. you might be the worst mean spirited teacher on DCUM forum ever. |
Yikes! Why is there a lack of ambition in your family?
|
You are an asshole. |
|
Lack of ambition? No. Wanting to inspire young minds? Yes. Motivated by money? No. Motivated by kids? Yes.
