s/o no starbucks cards or notes!!!

NP here.
Handwritten note/card would be fine.
Starbucks cards with $0 balance not.
I thought it was a genuine mistake but after receiving the 3rd Starbucks card with no money on it, I am getting this feeling that certain people are really sick and get their kicks trying to humiliate the teacher.

And I would not be surprised if there is a secondary market for SB gift cards.

And it's all crap.

Right, tea is crap. Fruit is crap. If it doesn't come from a locally-run locally-sourced vegan coffee house, it's crap.

That's gross! Return them when we head back to school.

Do you really think people intentionally gave cards with nothing on them? Pretty unlikely. Take it up with Starbucks not the parents.

went to 2 different places and was told that the cards were never activated. I am wondering if the plastic cards were pocketed when no one was looking.

Inside was a reference request for her kid. She is trying to get daughter in sidwell friends. That is at the bottom of my to- do list. Presents are not a necessity, but you patents demand a lot of extra from your teachers: late night phone calls, packets for missed days ect. And treating your teachers like crap means I'm not
Motivated to do any of it.

Uh- this is your JOB. My job has parts that I'm not fond of necessarily but it's my job and the profession I chose. You aren't entitled to gift cards (this is the most ridiculous notion anyway) or "tips" because you have to deal with an unpleasant (your subjective opinion) person. If you hate your job duties get a new job.

Ummm- I said they are NOT a nesecity.
I

Please, please, please be a troll and not a teacher.

They are not mutually exclusive--she is both. Based on her writing and grammar, she should be grateful that she hasn't been fired. I'm not going to follow this thread anymore, as I don't want to feed the troll

Ha!! I am highly effective! And I don't even use spell check! Gasp!

Hey OP -- if it means so much to you, I just thought I'd share that both my children's teachers received gifts in excess of 5x the amount of your perfect gift. Happy Holidays!

Why would a teacher be bummed that you gave another teacher a gift? Don't you get it?

this thread isn't worth my going back for a formal citation, but there was some mention of $100 visa card and a bottle of champaign as a "perfect gift". For a teacher making a fuss over getting the "perfect gift" and writing an obnoxious post aimed at well intentioned parents, this teacher should know that other teachers are well taken care of -- just not her.

I've never gotten tea there, and didn't care for the fruit based drink myself. I generally get a latte, which may not be quite as good as at the better indies, but are definitely pleasant to drink. I like the music, but realize that tastes differ. The point is they sell more than coffee.
