Something like this happened in my first marriage.

Once we were separated, my STBX would show up unannounced at my job. Usually it was to make a scene about how badly my lawyer was treating her - that is how we were communicating at the time, through lawyers.

After about the third time, I told the security staff at the front door that she was not permitted on the premises and if they let her in again, she was their problem. Lo and behold, she showed up again and they escorted her out of the building. They even called the police but she left before they showed up.

So I agree with Op's DH. You show up at my workplace acting like a fool, you get escorted out.

Details please and thank you.

I'm not this PP, but something like this happened at my firm's holiday party a few years back. Our receptionist and her husband got in an argument that got really loud. He was drunk. He ended up punching her in the face and giving her a black eye and had to be pulled off of her. The police were called. She quit soon after. Spouses have been banned from a lll holiday parties and functions since then.

Wow. Do you work with monkeys?

close...lawyers.

Those monkeys pay your salary, you grinning idiot.

Touched a nerve, huh?

Um, are you in DC? I wonder if you work at DH's firm...spouses are banned from their holiday party because of some unspecified drama that occurred.

OP, re: your original question: those are the rules of the building, not your husband's rules. There is no issue of whether he should "stick up for you" or not.

You behaved badly. I'm sorry you were embarrassed. Things happen when you behave badly (whether your husband says anything or not)

It's a real thing. Booz Allen, for one, long had (probably still has) a 'no spouses' rule at the Holiday party
