What movie has made your jaw drop that I probably haven't seen?

The story of the actor who played Casper is really sad. Actually there's a lot of interesting/sad stuff about behind that film, and how the kids who inspired the story grew up together in NYC.

Watership Down (granted I saw it as a kid)

4:44 starring Willem Dafoe. It sparked a huge, days-long passionate debate with the other 5 adults I watched with.

Lars and the Real Girl

August Rush was terrible. I absolutely hated the ending.

Well, Gladiator was big, but I don't remember it staying with me. I want to see it again now because I think I was distracted the first time, and I had a hard time with his family/kid/whatever happened to them... Gladiator poster, what was it about the movie? Haunting?

As a parent, I found it haunting because he held his family close in his heart, as did his fellow gladiator friend, despite all the violence and tragedy they experienced. I don't think I would have felt that way were I not a parent at the time. I also found Russell Crowe's "A Brilliant Mind" even more haunting. He should have won the Oscar for that one. I do have a sibling with schizophrenia and found it to be an eye-opener, even with its "creative" differences from the real story.

I saw it before kids and meh, but now I don't think I could bear it.

+1 for hotel Rwanda. It was showing on network tv and I came across it. After a couple of minutes I was planning to change the channel as it looked boring and I couldn't get into it. However, for some reason I kept watching, all the way to the end as it got more and more compelling. I ended up changing the direction of my career because of it--one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I would also add Downfall, a true story of the last few days in Hilter's bunker. I'm very interested in WW2 and the history of the Holocaust and this film was an aspect of things I hadn't known before. It's a German film. One of my top 10 films--scenes that stick with me nearly 10 yrs after I saw it.

Never Let You Go. Frustrating movie ... But very haunting as these kids (keira knightly, another famous actress who was just in Gatsby remake, and some guy) are so resigned to their horrific fate.

Never Let Me Go

Carey Mulligan...and the guy was Andrew Garfield...who just finished his 3rd Spiderman movie and as far as I know still dating Emma Stone.

I like the movie too.
