American History X
Murder in the First Both Ed Norton and Kevin Bacon should've received Oscars for their roles in the respective movies. |
Shawshank is one of my all-time faves. |
This version of Jane Eyre:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1229822/?ref_=nv_sr_1 It's one of my favorite books, and I was very impressed how good it was. |
I saw this one. I did like it but I wouldn't say it was jaw dropping or stayed with me. I also like the BBC version - more true to the book. |
The Kite Runner |
beasts of the southern wild |
The Sweet Hereafter |
+1 Night of the Hunter |
Schindler's List. |
Dogville |
Blood Diamond
Requiem for a Dream |
Dream Child is one of my all-time favorite. It's about Lewis Carroll and slower paced than a lot of the others mentioned above but so great.
Also, Grand Illusion and The Rules of the Game (both French) I re watched the Black Stallion as an adult. When I was a kid I thought it was boring but now...wow! The cinematography is fantastic and the images really stayed with me. |
The Kite Runner
The Stoning of Soraya Slumdog Millionaire The Green Mile Man on Fire Memento Next Door Frailty The Hole Se7en |
Random movies I really liked, that almost nobody's heard of, that were kind of quietly beautiful/charming:
August Rush Janie Jones Lars and the Real Girl |
Yes!! Very haunting and the end is unexpected. |
