I thought back at the beginning of the season Carlton had said her husband ran a line of gyms. There was a scene where she and her husband were timing the kids as they ran through an obstacle course in the backyard. Later, it seems he is part of a family business for financial services?

I don't get the husband. He talks like he is from New York/New Jersey and he doesn't look at all like the brother they showed the other week at the family financial services party. Is he a full brother? Was he raised somewhere else?

I answered my own question. He is from Long Island! Looks like they moved out to CA in the 90s.
