What is the best nickname for Caroline? (Or no nickname?)

Op, how did it turn out? What are you calling her these days?

Why does she need a nickname?

This thread is very old, but my name is Caroline and I've never had a formal nickname. Sometimes my very close friends will call me Care or Caro, but only occasionally. My family has all sorts of pet names from Carolina (pronounced "Leena") to Leen to Cara to C. That said, no one has ever tried to actually give me a formal nickname like "Carrie". I do have a friend named Carrie whose full name is Caroline, but her mom always continues to call her Caroline and she has been using Carrie since birth.

I call mine Caroline. Sometimes Caro, but almost always by her full name.

The four kids names Caroline I know all go by Caroline. None have a nickname as far as I know, and the range in age from 4-13.

I was actually going to say "cece" before I read your post. I actually love that for a NN!

OP of this post - just saw it pop up on recent topics. Happy to report that around age 2.5, I got her back on the Caroline train Now she goes by Caroline full time. All is well!

Set up an autocorrect for your texts where if you type Cr it turns into Caroline. If you call her Caroline consistently and she calls herself Caroline, people will get the hint and do the same.

Callie is a cute nickname, though!

Ugh. 10:24 here. I posted before seeing the update. Glad it worked out, OP!

The control freak tendencies of the women of DCUM never ceases to amaze me.

I have a 4 month old Caroline who I don't plan to nickname so happy to hear the update! I've been tempted to use C in texts too since I shorten all my long-named friends (I.e Elizabeth becomes E in texts) but will avoid so we don't end up with a little CeCe on our hands.

My Caroline is ten now and has been C or her full set of initials in texts for years. No one has ever, ever called her CeCe. You can relax and text as you please!

+1. Mine is 5 and always C in texts with DH or the nanny. Sometimes DH and I even refer to her as C when we're talking about her, but she's never been called C or especially CeCe to her face.

There are so many Carolines in this area, I would be glad for a nickname if I were her.
