I hope so! I mean, I think of both my SILs as friends, and I hope they think of me the same way. One is DH's step-sister, and the other is DH's step-brother's wife. Both of them are wonderful people (as are their spouses) and I very much enjoy their company. |
I mostly like my SIL, but she is very snobbish and showy. They make more money than we do (mostly because she works and I don't), which I am not jealous of, but we just don't care about the same things. I think her new Michael Kors (or however you spell it) handbag is ugly. She thinks I should be super impressed. Gag. |
I married an only child. Bliss. |
I adore my brother's wife and am just as close to her as my siblings. She's also been around the majority of my life, so I barely remember a time she wasn't his gf/wife. She's awesome and fun.
My husband's sister is an entirely different story. Loves to pretend she is the perfect sister/mom/daughter when in reality she is so selfish it makes me go cross eyed. I wish she lived further away so I would only have to see her occasionally and it'd be easier to ignore her endless drama. Alas, she's only 45 minutes away. |
MY SIL is about 10 years younger than me and in nursing school. We are at totally different places in our lives. We have more of a big/little sister relationship (actually, I like her more than one of my own sisters). But I think she's really sweet, and it's been fun to watch her grow up and turn into an adult (I started dating my DH when she was still in high school). |
I have the same situation with my SIL who lives close by, too. My SIL's who live far away are awesome. They accepted me from the get go and have only been kind, warm and very loving towards me. |
