Is sex with your SO the best you've had?

Reading this, it occurs to me that, for my wife, I'm probably the ok-but-not-great sex partner who is an unexciting, but stable and very good long term partner.

But, in my younger days, there were some women I had intense sex with, but, undoubtedly I was unreliable and unsuitable as a long term partner.

The sex with those earlier women would not have remained intense even if they had stuck with me until I grew up and became more reliable and more suitable as a father and husband.

Hmmm. My DH is the best sex partner I've ever had, yes.

But that bar is very low. I've only had a couple of partners in my life, and other than DH they were both young guys who basically did the jackhammer thing, then wandered away. DH wins this contest simply by even *trying* to please me.

However, our sex life is very predictable and vanilla and I fantasize about hooking up with more adventurous/confident/experienced men all the time. I have the sense that there is sex out there way, way better than what DH and I have, and I'd love to know what that's like. But it stays a fantasy - I'd never do that to him.
