Your teen daughter almost ran me over last night.

There's one half a block down from our elementary school one a secondary road that has become a favorite cut through. I'd say most drivers are unaware of the crosswalk and rarely look for pedestrians. My neighbor was rear ended when she stopped for a pedestrian and the car behind her plowed into her.
The crosswalks appear unexpectedly if you don't know the area. Yes, I understand legal liability. I'm saying as a matter of pedestrian safety/traffic planning/whatever, these pedestrian crossings without lights are a bad idea. Pedestrians need to be extra vigilant. Yes, it's your "right" to cross but we'll all feel bad when you're hit.

So let's get the transportation department to add traffic lights -- timed for pedestrians.

Meanwhile, let's get the message to drivers that when you're driving, you need to look for pedestrians.

No one is blaming pedestrians. This particular story as told by the OP seems physically impossible. Just sayin'.

I'm the OP what's physically impossible???

I'm right on the yellow dot, driver drives by on the other side slowly so we notice she's distracted. We're waiting for our light. We keep watching her. The light turns green for us we cross and we see her coming. She doesn't stop we ran.

What's so hard to understand?

How you see her phone from 5 lanes over.

I see a driver coming too slow swiveling through the lanes and as she passes us we see her looking down. How CAN'T you see it? She was the only car/driver on her side of the street. We confirmed as she approached us and ran the red light without noticing.

Is it that hard to see it? And it was not 5 lanes. It's 2 lanes on each side, she was on the left lane of her side so 3 lanes from us.

Still, was she right to blow the red light and hit me?

You're not going to convince them, OP. You chose the wrong title for your thread.

Had you charged someone else's teen daughter, you would have gotten unanimous support. Cause other people's DDs drive like maniacs.

Look OP, you mentioned lots of details but forgot to tell us loyal readers that all of these events took place underwater. Had you divulged this important piece of information in the first place, we wouldn't have had to go through all of this. It's much more important than the actual location where this took place. Sorry we gave you such a hard time.
