But, used as a name, it denotes "junior". Here's a list of famous people (one of whom went EAST - get it - to harvard law with me). People are allowed to move around. Also, I think you should check on the stats of this blog. People from all over the U.S. read this stuff. International too.

Looks like you enjoy googling "bud" PP. |
Nope, just don't like it when someone says something incorrect. I tell them why it's incorrect and provide a site. W/o reading it, the stupid DCUM mudslinging starts and I am told to "get a clue". So I tell them to read the thread the next time before hurling insults. As for the string of "Buds", I didn't type them, I just went to wikipedia, and click click, cut and paste. Four seconds max it took. And for the record, to the person who seems to think we can only post stuff relevant to DMV (huh??? LOOK at the demographics on this website), I am not in DMV at all. The sun is still shining. |
covering yourselves with tattoos. Yuck. Everyone under age 35 seems to have tons of tattoos. It is gross. Tattoos are ugly. I am hoping this "trend" goes away. |
OK, so it is your contention that the thousands of moms and dads out there who we see calling their sons "bud" or "buddy" are all doing so because the child is a jr.? I am impressed that you know this little factoid and even had a personal law school classmate who this applied to, but seriously, that is just absurd. These people are calling their sons "bud" as a term of endearment. These same folks use alternate terms like "sweetie" for their daughters. I personally know several people who call their sons "bud" and I know for certain that the kids are not jrs. |
This discussion refers to bud when used in the non-name sense... If we overheard someone calling Bud bud, then well... I guess you have a point??? ![]() |
Debating the use of BUD. It's a beer. Who cares. This thread just went south... |
What's absurd? |
Also:
1) Adding "much" after a word. (I.E "Sleep much, eat much...") 2) "And such" (Agree w/ just about everything listed on this thread.) |
PP here. Also ,"first time mom." |
I always call them kiddy pops! Ha! |
Or saying "we're pregnant"...only one of you is. |
Prefacing a complaint with "I'm sorry, but ...". You're not sorry so just say what you have to say. |
No, it's not. For the love of God, please stop calling it that. It's the DC area. -- DC native |
