Really? Because I think it's excellent multi-tasking: avoiding horrible people and great exercise. |
The goal is a character-free WORLD, don't you see! This kid will end up seriously deranged. |
OP, my sister and BIL were like that. Niece had no idea about the licensed characters. They do not have a TV and NEVER take her to movies EVER. They now let her watch certain things on their iPod though. Turns out she was sad because she had no idea what kids were talking about at school--she will be 8 soon. She loves Spongebob. She has never seen the show, just loves the character. My sister and BIL are absolutely appalled by this. I just laugh because they are delusion idiots. It's one thing to learn and limit exposure (or use it as a teachable moment about body image etc...). It's another to make it taboo. |
Holy shit, are we really slagging on other Hill moms for being overweight on anon forums? Come on ladies. It is not jr high anymore. Grow the fuck up. I would rather eat sweetened yogurt (gasp!) at that mom's house than "protein" in your miserable company. |
No, but they may have a monopoly on thinking that vegetables, protein, and full-fat dairy is what people ought to be eating, especially if they want to lose weight, and on putting fruit in the "giant carbfest" category with muffins, cakes, and sweetened yogurt. |
You think the Disney hate is an odd thing to brag about? I FUCKING HATE DISNEY. It is the WORST SHIT EVER. Plenty of people think Disney is teaching the wrong thing to kids, especially little girls. Their main message: you can't/shouldn't go through life without a man. But I don't mention it at all when I'm talking to people. So I'm not bragging about it or anything. We watch plenty of TV/movies, but no Disney. Ever. |
Sadly, no. I think there are many snotty French ladies. |
+1 She may be a bitch for the French thing, but she is a +1 for having sweet yogurt. This is SO why I don't live on the Hill. |
Maybe if you repeat it really slow a few times, the irony will sink in to you. I said it in English, so it should be funny even to monolinguists like you! |
I think you're confusing two story lines. There's a mom who discouraged her kid from playing with others who don't speak french. There's another one who looks down on those whose kids' know what pizza is, and that mom may or may not be the same mom who bans sugar for her kid but eats a ton of carbs while complaining about her weight. I don't think either were actually located on the Hill - that got thrown in by the "grow the F up" lady. |
Nope, just pointing out the glaring hypocrisy. |
I have no idea either.? |
Thanks you! It's so hard to keep these crazy, smug mommies straight. Of course, I am so awesome, I should be able to do that. |
Exactly. Two different smug moms. |
Don't hate on Mindy Kaling - her show is so-so but it still makes me laugh out load at least once per episode.
