The enthusiasm that is spreading all over this country is electrifying. I wonder if it's comparable to Kennedy or Robert Kennedy. This election is so exciting!

I guess it depends on your definition of exciting.

Yes-it'll be exciting to have a President who is intelligent, pragmatic, and collected!

McCain
1. Executive experience

I wouldn't be surprised if the ultra-liberal guy who runs this board is throwing out all the McCain responses. The Obama supporters are so vocal about who they support but the McCain supporters seem to keep their feelings quiet. I really think it's become "uncool" to be a Republican.

Quit being an asshole. Have any of your posts been removed? Your sock puppetted thread is still here. If its uncool to be a Republican, its because the only ones left are paranoid conspiracy theorists who suffer from delusions of persecution.

McCain

Reason: Obama's stance on abortion sickens me.
There are oodles of other reasons too, but the sanctity of life trumps all others and the OP asked for the #1 reason

...oh, also residing in the good ol' Commonwealth (ta-da! an official swing state...even though we are a commonwealth)

I agree; you do want an honest, valid debate on the issues with different views expressed, don't you?

Do you consider:

I will probably get booted by the guy who runs this site, but I am voting for McCain.

and:

I wouldn't be surprised if the ultra-liberal guy who runs this board is throwing out all the McCain responses.

to be part of "an honest, valid debate on the issues"?

I think the point is that when the moderator of a board is so openly, strongly in support of one particular candidate, and makes no bones about his contempt for the other, it shuts down those who are not in agreement with him from feeling free to express themselves.

my friend got a discount on her auto services because she had an Obama sticker in her car. They said it was the Obama Special : )

The moderator of this board puts up with more crap from more people than most of us could ever stand. Doing this public service so that we all have a place to kvetch does not rob the moderator of the right to express an opinion.

And by the stuff you see on this board-- everywhere from the political threads to general parenting to parents trying-to-select-best-cable-service-for-gifted-fetus threads-- it strains credulity to say that people don't feel free to express themselves.

Thank you, Jeff, for not losing it on all of us.

Obama

too many reasons to list, but let's just say I am a bleeding heart liberal who believes in freedom of CHOICE and helping those less fortunate than myself, even it means I'll be getting a tax increase come 2009.
