well last year it was 66% Asian, and there has been talk that the school was trying to broaden it out a bit to include other groups, so it would be interesting to see how they fared in this effort.

TJ is 70% Asian...


Actually, TJ is 64% Asian.


Which is a 400% enrichment in this area. Test scores shouldn't be weighted so heavily.

31M is gonna give your daughter problem. My asian DD got 49m & 49v two years ago and she struggling to keep up with the work load..she has to work hard to maintain 4.0+ gpa...

Big accomplishment to get accepted to TJ. The bigger challenge will start this September and to stay in TJ for the next four years and keep up with 4+ GPA. In TJ, B means F.

Understood...she also got straight A's thru middle school at one of the large AAP center

In TJ worse than B gets you kicked out. B is just a B. But 80 of the 480 will drop out.

You can call and find out where your child is on wait list. Top 1/3 usually gets in, middle 50-50, bottom 1/3 not likely. But your child can reapply next year. There rank remains. 20 ish kids per year drop out.
